The headphone connection is not working. the sound

the headphone connection is not working. the sound comes and goes.
i think something is wrong with the headphone connection. the sound
comes in muffled or one ear with and one ear without. if i jiggle the headphone jack sometimes it plays ok other times no sound at all.
