Chemical cleaner taste in water and ice from fridge door.

Run it as normal and keep flushing the water through. Place lemon wedges around the inside for the next week. If the problem persists you can buy a proprietory air conditioning system cleaner for cars that disperses inside the unit (make sure no food is left in while using) follow makers instructions. Clean with low pressure hot water spray before using again.

I have a GE Profile refrigerator model TFX25PRYA. The ice is tasting funny. Is there a water filter on this fridge? If so where is it?

I DIDNT SEE ONE FOR IT, ICE GETS OLD AND WILL NEED TO BE DUMPED. WHAT I WOULD DO IS A TOTAL FRIDGE CLEANING, TAKES ABOUT 1.5 HRS, DEFROST- TURN OFF. OR BEST BET UNPLUG...USE A FAN TO BLOW AIR IN THE FRIDGE AND FREEZER. THROW A TOWEL DOWN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FREEZER TO CATCH WATER.. TAKE ICE MAKER OUT AND WASH OUT THE CUBE TRAY, WITH WARM SOAPY WATER, RINSE WELL, DO NOT GET THE MOTOR PORTION WET. TAKE IT OUT SIDE TO LET DRY GOOD.. BACK TO THE FRIDGE.. MILD SOAPY WATER AND WIPE ALL THE PARTS DOWN. I TAKE ALL OF THE SHELVES OUT TO THE GARDEN HOSE, IT GETS ALL OF THE SQUEAKY CLEAN.. WIPE DOWN THE INSIDE OF THE FRIDGE REAL GOOD, TILL ITS DRY ! ALL SHELVES NEED TO BE DRY. MOISTURE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND IN YOU FRIDGE !! BY THIS TIME IF THERE IS A FILTER IN THIS UNIT YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN IT..
WITH THE FRIDGE EMPTY NO SHELVES, IT MAKES IT EASY TO PULL OUT AND CLEAN UNDER (COILS) AROUND THE BACK OF THE UNIT AND SEE THERE IS A FILTER ON THE BACK, ABOUT THE SIZE OF A HOT DOG AND BUN FALLOW THE WATER LINE TO SEE IF YOU CAN FIND IT THAT YOU CAN BUY THAT TAKES OUT THE CHLORINE TASTE.. OR THE BEST FOR LAST JUST CLICK ON THIS LINK ARM AND HAMMER
FOR A QUICK MAINTENANCE TYPE FIX .. IF YOU DO ALL THAT I SUGGEST ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR. I THINK YOU WILL FIND YOU WILL EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR FRIDGE AND TASTE OF THE FOOD IT KEEPS FOR YOU. SEE MY OTHER TIPS AND IF I WAS OF HELP TO ALL OF YOU PEOPLE OUT THERE IN COMPUTER LAND HIT THE YES BUTTON. PLEASE TAKE THE SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME TO DO THIS FOR ME ? .. Water leaking under fridge when I turn on water to filter

its the cooled water tank may be leaking. take all of tthe shelves out of the fridge and wipe it all down, turn water on and use a newspaper to wipe it down again, stopping and looking at the paper to see if it is wet, this will give you a idea where to focus your new leak detecting skills.. good luck ..jay

Water pooling in the fridge.

excess water usuall y means there is a blocked drain tube in the bottom of the fridge.this can be cleared by using a small bottle type brush and run down through the drai hole to clear it.also check the drain tube from the rear of the fridge and make sure there is no obstruction near the drain pan

Water pooling at the bottom of kenmore fridge

I had a Kenmore fridge - about 20 years old when I replaced it this year. It used to do the exact same thing especially in warm/hot weather. What it is is the water from the freezer defrosting. There should be something on the back near the top, inside the fridge sticking out - a tiny little tray sticking out and it may also be part of supporting one of the shelves, I can't remember. Anyways, water from the defrost pools in there and is supposed to evaporate, but it gets clogged with gunk and the water spills out and runs down the back of the fridge down to the bottom. Get a pipe cleaner or something and poke it into this hole and clean out the pipe to the hole isn't blocked. This is all inside the fridge, not outside, on the back panel outside. That's the best I can do to describe the solution - it's an easy fix you can do yourself. Good luck!

My fridge has water pooling on the top shelf

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...If you need any further assistance please feel free to comment again. good luck! P.s Please don't forget to rate my solution thanks! Mike.

Water is collecting under the crisper drawers and on the the shelves

The fridge has a blocked drain...water from defrost cycle not able to get to drain pan. Remove rear panel in freezer and look at bottom....will probably have is built up at drain hole.....use a cup of water to clear until in runs down drain.(may need to check drain pan afterwards to see how full it is)

Spitting refrigerator

HI ... TRY TO FLUSH OUT THE DRAIN LINE FIRST. SOME ARE ONLY VISIBLE BY LOOKING THROUGH THE BOTTOM AT THE REAR OF THE FRIG. THE TUBE IS SUPPOSED TO DRAIN INTO A PAN DOWN THERE. THE HEAT FROM THE CONDENSER EVAPORATES IT. GOOD LUCK

Refrigerator leaking water out

being in the uk, i don't know this appliance specifically so take this as guidence. there are two places where water can come from. at the rear of the fridge there should be a gully at the bottom of the evaporator wall - the part that frosts up. in the middle of this gully is a drain and this is likely blocked. push something flexible down it and check blockage is cleared by pouring a small amount of water in the gully and see it flows freely away. good idea to occasionly pour a small amount of dilute bleach down it now and again to keep it sweet. the other place for water to come from is if some of the contents of the fridge are touching the back wall. when it defrosts the water tends to divert onto the shelves
