The SSID is the name of a wireless access point such as a Personal Wireless Router(PWR). Your wireless device should list all within range. In this particular situation you are likely to need a PWR to have an SSID. Both of your computers will need to connect to it.

Have you configured the Belkin wireless router?
You need to configure the Belkin using a 10baseT network cable first before you configure the wireless card.

To make your wireless router secure you need to use your browser and type in the Belkin IP configuration address.
Then you need to change the Admin password, change SSID and turn off SSID broadcast, setup the encryption (use WAP or WAP2 if your wireless card supports WAP) and for added protection use MAC address filtering.

SOURCE: My wireless connection won't work

Those pieces if data come from your FiOS gear. On the bottom of the FiOS Wireless and network set, is a serial number, and associated with that is another number, call it your password, but together they are the profile and Password with which you gain access to the FiOS Network, to allow you to get out to the Internet.
Check all installation papers you got from Verizon, as that information should be there, or call their help line. They are usually pretty good in helping you and FiOS is not off-shore, so you will get a good response.

Wireless ssid not showing in some laptops and mobiles -dlink router

The D-Link wireless router may have the SSID broadcast turned off.
In this case only computers that have wireless connection to the D-Link will show the SSID.
If you know the SSID you can enter the SSID manually in the wireless card settings in the laptop/computer.
OR
Turn on SSID broadcast in the D-Link wireless settings.

I am trying to connect to netflix thru my wii and t says that the ssid code is wrong and i don't know what to do.

If by SSID code they mean the name of your home network double check that you are indeed typing it in correctly, as it will be case sensitive (make sure caps lock is not on). If they mean your SSID password (encryption key) then double check by logging onto your router that you are typing the correct passphrase. If you have another computer you can usually log in to the router's setup/management by going to either 192.168.1.1 or 192.16.0.1. This works on most routers. From there you would want to view the "security" tab or something along those lines and check to see
what your SSID is and/or what the security passphrase / encryption key is.

I have a wireless network of computers, one wired and 2 wireless. in the correct setup, my other acer laptop doesn have internet, but s connected to the router, and this laptop im using CAN connect...

All the computers should have the same NETWORK NAME or SSID.

Recheck the settings and make an adhoc connection for each of the computers to your router.

You can also get a USB wireless adapter to enable ht NO internet laptop and connect them.

Just keep playing with the NETWORK SETTINGS.

Make sure all are connected to the SAME SSID.

Hope it helped.

God Bless You!

How do I find SSID no on my computor ?

SSID is the name of your wireless network. When the computer searches for available wireless networks, it displays SSIDs (names) of discovered networks.

When you are connected, and you click the wireless connection icon in the system tray, it will tell you to which network name it is connected.

Ive run the install disk for the dlink adaptor but i still cant connect. it wants me to enter the ssid but it says the ssid doesnt exist. what else am i meant to be doing to get my laptop onto a wireless...

Hello,
Your adapter cannot connect i
1. f there is no wireless networks to connect to
2. If there are networks around but they hide their SSID (some thing like a name or call letters for a radio)
3. If the power signal received is weak
4. If there are security measures enforced on the network that prevent non authorized.

If it is your nework you are trying to connect to you must configure your router to allow your computer access to your network and through your network to the Internet.
Hope it helps.

Cant find own wireless

Set the SSID on at the router side. Alternately you can enter the SSID information manually at the computer side.
