Can you run a cico 2901 router with netgear fs728tp switches in a hybrid network environment?

Trying to setup VoIP using a Cisco 2901 through a fiber media converter to fiber to fiber media converter to Netgear FS728TP-100NAS PoE switch. Cisco IP7942 will not grab IP configuration.

Way make it so hard for yourself? The media converter may be trying to assign a DHCP address in addition to the router.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: power up problem

Well it should!
Can you get the IP phone to work with any other device? If not, it is the phone, not the switch. If yes...
Reset the switch to factory defaults and try again.

Netgear fs516 default ip address

switches do not normally have ip addresses as they are layer 2 network devices. They work on the MAC address of each network card attached to it to direct the network packets of data to the correct Network card.
Cisco Switches have an IP address but it is a virtual ip address used to remotely log into a Cisco Switch via IP but has nothing to do with the switching function however this is not a cisco switch.
Routers have IP addresses and use them to switch IP addressed packets to other Networks that have Routers connected to Switches.

The reset button only reboots the router. If so equipped, a separate "Factory Defaults" button will revert to (you guessed it) factory defaults.

E1 or T1 to pabx to router to softphone

Yes, configure second Cisco E1 port to simulate you telcom (network side) and connect it to PB, and first Cisco E1 to your telecom provider.

On Cisco router configure voice ports, and number manupilation, so you can catch any call and redirect it anywhere (Voip, Telco, PBX).

I tryed that with Ericcson, and it didn't work until connections where like these
telco <-> Cisco VoIP gateway (E1x2) <-> PBX

PBX's are not very flexible, Cisco is.

Unable to connect 2 routers need help!

Hi,

Do you have any funky subnets for your Cisco router? Do not connect the wireless router to your network yet, as it may have the same IP address as your other router.

Basically the easiest way to do this is to set a dedicated IP for the 2Wire router on the Cisoo router. Then make them stay on the same subnet, but give an IP range for your Cisco router, like 1-50 or something. If you give the 2Wire router IP .51 for instance, then give the Wifi users on the 2Wire IP range from .52-75 or something.

Make the 2Wire router only use wifi and not serve DHCP addresses. Then you setup the 2Wire router to get its info from the Cisco router.

I searched and there is no howto out there for doing this with a Cisco router. However, here is one I used to setup a similar scenario with a Netgear router. It worked. If you are able to translate a bit, it might work for you:

Here is another article:

Let me know if you are able to work through this. You need to give the 2wire router a static IP and you need to NOT use it for wired connections, and not use it to serve DHCP settings.
