You don't have a circulating line in it,, there for it is pulling the hot only,, when you have the 2 systems you have to have it circulationg or take 1 out, it being it is hot water they will vapor lock,, meening no hot water , you could get a circulating pump that actually hooks to the cold and hot side under the sink far away from the water heater and it has a timer on it that will circulate the water at certain times of the day,,, this would solve your problem

take the water heater out {4 gallon} install a circulator pump on the faucet farthest away and you can get it with a timer and this way it will pull the hot water around the house insted of trying to heat hot water,, if the temp is set at a diffrent temp and you turn on the hot water it will pull from either way,, set both water heaters at the same temp

No hot water from kitchen tap

The hot side of the faucet is most likely plugged with something that came up thru the water system. The average thankless waterheater requires at least 1/2 to 3/4 gpm flow rate for the unit to sense flow and turn on. If there is not enough flow it will not fire and heat the water. Not sure about this particular unit but a few require at least one full gallon per minute flow. So chances are that if you fix the faucet, you fix the hot water issue at the same time

I have a customer who would like a Bosch AE-9.5 tankless water heater installed in the master bathroom. The master bath is located at the far end of the house & they are wasting a great deal of water...

In theory it sounds good, but I don't think it would function properly. Most folks install a low boy 20 or 25 gallon water heater near the master bath and use the home's cold water feed as the supply line. That way, the water for the master bath alone, will always remain hot.Of course this would involve some plumbing modifications.

Of course, the other less expensive solution, would be to insulate the hot water pipe(s) feeding the master bath, from the existing water heater. That way, there would be no heat loss in the pipe(s) so the water in the pipe would remain warm to hot all the time.

Either of the above solutions should heat things up for your customer.

I have a Rheem 40 gal. tank that is leaking water front the top where the vent stack is. It is pouring out. Can it be repaired?

A leaking water heater cannot be repaired, assuming it's the tank leaking and not nearby water pipe.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-leaking.html

First thing is to protect your property from catastrophic tank failure where tank ruptures and water runs until it is shut off:
Tanks are under pressure when they are hot.
Close cold water shut-off located above tank.
Turn control knob to 'pilot' so pilot is lit but burner will not turn on.
Open hot side on tub for few moments to relieve tank pressure.

Now your property is safe.
You need a new water heater.
In mean time, gas water heater makes 41 gallons hot water per hour.
Shower used 5-9 gallons hot water.
Bath uses 10-15 gallons hot water.
You can turn on water heater for short stretches and limp by until you get a new heater.

Every electric water heater I have ever installed makes a low hum while heating. I believe this is a combination of the current going through the elements and the minerals in the water cooking on the elements. That is the best explanation I have. Hope this helps.

Listen close near any check valve that may be in the piping system, as well as the pressure relief valve on tank. It may be a check valve rattling, but you normally will only experience that when water is flowing in and out of the system.

No hot water after installation and powering up

All water valves open? Unit will flow approx 3/4 gallon prior to starting. If flow is good, check the flow switch to see if it is closing. If flow switch is closing and unit still not firing, assuming gas pressure is good; Nat 3.5''w.c., LP 10" w.c., loose wiring at board, ignitor. Sounds like something simple overlooked.

hello; no, unfortunately conventional elec. water heaters are only designed to operate in the upright position. one alternative is an electric tankless model. but beware there are a few things to explore about them before making the decision.
