If you have an external monitor with VGA interface and you have a VGA monitor cable then should simply plug it into the netbook VGA socket and reboot. The monitor should then start up and can be used as a screen. If you are using Windows then you can right click mouse on screen to select display properties and configure the resolution and profile of the setup.

My toshiba touchscreen stopped working

first get a functioning monitor with a usb connection plug it into your toshiba if that external monitor comes on, access your contol panel monitor setup and see if what the setting is -internal/external monitor if the setting is ok( one monitor relates to the built in monitor / two monitor relates to external monitor) go into safe mode and see if that helps in addition (if n/g with the external monitor the problem could be a missing/corrupt driver/and or virus lastly sys bd=buy another laptop)with external monitor on and you tried everything and built in monitor doesn't function = choice= repair built in monitor or buy another lap top.let me know how things go?

How to view my lap top on my flat screen

Connecting an External Monitor or Data Projector
You can switch to anexternal monitor by two methods.1. Connect the externalmonitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and thelaptop. The video information will automatically switch to the externalmonitor.2. If you power up thelaptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor bypressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make andmodel laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCDscreen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fnkey plus one of the function key. Here is a list of keycombinations for some of the laptops :-IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7HP and Compaq = Fn + F4Toshiba = Fn + F5Dell = Fn + F8

I have a samsung synmaster 712 n monitor when and a dell inspiron computer lap top . when i plug monitor into lap top samsung light blinks and no signal on screen from lap top

Did you use the combination keys of your laptop Fn and either F5, 6, or 7 depends on brand to select internal/external/both? You also need to make sure that the video resolution feeding the monitor is at native resolution setting.

Can't get picture back on lap top after connecting to ext monitor

Hello there. You sound very frustrated. try this, go into your BIOS settings and cycle the settings for your vga adapter, or even reseting the options to basic performance. also, you could hook up the external monitor and disable it while it's hooked up. that should fix any problems with that(if you still have an extra.)
