MS surface will not turn on

It all depends on the tablet make, for MS Surface you press the volume down and windows button simultaneously and it will capture you screen display and place it in the screenshot folder.

when you say shut down do you mean it goes of or goes into safety mode

You have a problem with the battery or charging line. If you have indication from Windows for charging battery, mtery.aybe you need a new bat

If you mean that nothing happens at all when you push the power button along the edge of the device then the battery is dead or the device itself is defective.
If it is off and you are just tapping the Windows button or using the keyboard to try to wake it then use the power button to turn it on first. It will sleep after idle for a time and can be awakened by the keyboard or the Windows key.

Hold the power button down for 10 seconds. Then turn it back on.

Press the power button down for 10aeconds, then release and try to turn on again.

These get stuck- try holding the power button and the volume up for about 10-15 seconds and it should reset itself.

Check your manual or search on Microsoft forum to see how you can stop the change. Unfortunately with the apps, this is dependant on Microsoft releasing software/apps that work on the tablet.
