Question about Dometic RM2620 Refrigerator

Will not stay lit on LP

When I change my frig over from electric to LP or try to start on LP the ignitor lights the burner, works for appx 15 to 20 seconds and then goes out. Sometimes it will relight, other times it won't. If I leave on LP the check light will light and the unit will lockout and will not cool. There are no apparent leaks in the system, I haven't seen any of the taletell signs ammonia residue on the coils, etc.

Actually not a 2620. The frig is a RM2852. Burner and orifice have been cleaned and all electrical connections checked. I don't have a manometer to be able to check the inches of wc on the gas valve. I do have a multimeter and can check the ohm readings on the components. One thing that I didn't relay to you in the first post, is that the frig cools and works well on AC.

I am down to replacing the board, gas valve, and thermocouple. Would that be the correct sequence to change out?

Hmm.. let me put this way....
while the refrigerator is trying to light(15-20 secs as u said). tap on the gas valve, if it is stuck this may be the problem and allow gas to flow through. Also, if the unit has been sitting for a while, retry the procedure several times.as per my experiance i ask my clients to try to light for 30 seconds and if it doesn't light, to turn off, wait 5 min and try again. this is a generic problems and many clients has also said that after it works on LP later it does not work on AC. but if you have made up your mind to replace Board, thermocouple and Gas valve.. i think the issue is with the gas valve.. also if you are capable enough to do it your self its good other wise i recomend you to check out for machanic in your locality. also before you do that read this www.aroundoz.com/a_clinic_archive/refrigeration/easy_refrigerator_diagnostics.htm
All the best!!

There is some reason maybe not explained here. But I will help you if you want. Below is a simple test. The manual I need you to make sure if you have the RM2620 or another model to get the correct manual. That model has digital controls and that is controlled by a control board for switching from AC to DC to Propane. If the board will not switch then we need to look for that problem. Dometic, good refrigerate and great support group. Now here is a link to that model number problem solving PDF. With the manual we can work together to solve this.

Below is a link to their customer center. They are good about helping their customer worldwide. Thanks for the vote. I did search for that model in the Caravan 3 way style. They have hundreds of versions. Nothing falls exactly on your model number. You may need to surf their site awhile for your model and the control components. But a talk on the phone with them to get the correct direction for your model is better than the cost of driving to a dealer and getting repairs. YouTube has service movies covering Dometic.

Whirlpool WFG510S0AS2 range - stove burners work just fine, but both the oven and broiler does not stay lit. NOTE - this unit has been converted from natural gas to LP

when the lp conversion is done , it is normally just a jet size change that is done
however the air shroud has to also be adjusted to get a clean blue burn of the flame
The just jet change results in a slightly yellow flame which is incomplete burn of the gas and that creates carbon build up at the jet and burners causing partial blockage
I would suggest that you call in an accredited gas fitter to check the problem and if necessary , clean the jets and adjust the air shroud

I have a goodman gmpn 100-4 REVB furnace that will not stay lit

If the igniter lights the burners the ignitor..... is not bad. Its like a light bulb.... it works or ot doesn't.
You are describing a dirty flame sensor. Dishonest contractors will sell you a new ignitor but clean the flame sensor when the are installing the ignitor. It is located at the opposite end of the burners than the ignitor. It has one wire going to it. Remove it and clean the rod with a piece of fine grit sandpaper. this should be done every year before heating season.
Good luck

Ignitor works but stays lit!

That is the way it works. As long as the burner is on the ignitor will also be on. Want to see why?

Ignitor won't shut off

The Viking manual says that an ignitor that continues to try to light even after the burner has been lit indicates improper grounding, and that an electrician should be consulted.

Perhaps you could try to replace the ignitor, and see if that fixes the problem?

I have a similar age, 6-burner 36" rangetop.

Pilot lights (not always) but gas will not flow into burner

First Clean the ignitor assembly and make sure the flame is reaching the flame sensor strongly.

You may need to replace the flame sensor.

Whirlpool electric range burner power light stays on but no heat

Hello givemeanidth.
Welcome to Fixya

You said, have a Whirlpool electric range (model rf363pxpt0) with standalone burners - the burner power indicator light stays lit whether the heat control knob is on or off, there is no heat coming from the burner on or off. You pulled the burner from the receptacle and one of the tabs broke off and stayed in the receptacle. You removed the tab and made sure no pieces remained in the receptacle then bought a replacement burner, no change. You put the replacement burner in the back burner of the same size and had heat within 10 seconds. You changed out the burner with the one that had been in the back of the range, no heat. As long as the breaker to the range is on the power light stays lit but no power to that one burner only.

What is the model number and the age of your range?

Waiting for your reply.
