Microwave display - digits have become dim /...

We have a Dacor built-it microwave in which the display readout has become dim and some of the digits only display a portion of the number. It's a LCD display. The unit is vintage 2001 and I haven't been able to find a troubleshooting guide or parts listing to try to shoot the problem.
