Is there any possible way to repair a DMD chip with tiny white dots?

Anything is usually fixable. What you have to determine with Dell's assistance is if it is cost effective to do so.

There are white dots on the screen of my dell 1210s Projector

Dell projectors are known for using extremely cheap display chips... Most probably the pixels are stuck you will have to send it to dell for service

Black and white pixels in picture

The DLP chip is failing. The only way to fix the "dots" is to replace the DMD (digital mirror device) chip. Overheating causes this starfield effect to occur. See youtube video for explaination.

Black and white pixels increasing in number in my picture

The DMD chip is failing on your projection device. The only way to fix it is to replace the chip. The dots are usually caused by excessive heat build up.

Presentation mode is off...

I'm going to guess that you have a wide screen Dell laptop with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a default resolution of 1280X800. The wide screen is great BUT most presentation grade projectors do not have a native (pixel for pixel) 16:10 mode. Instead they still prefer a display input with a 4:3 aspect ratio like your old square CRT or standard definition TV. Why do they prefer a 4:3 input? Mainly because Powerpoint prefers to display a slideshow in a 4:3 mode. Because of this Dell, in their infinite wisdom, created the 'presentation mode' utility in an attempt to automatically convert the VGA output of your laptop from 16:10 to 4:3 on the fly. In my experience this is an annoyance at best and at worst can seriously impact the size and quality of the projected image.

The best thing you can do when you connect to a projector is ignore the presentation mode alert and manually set your laptop's resolution to 1024X768 for an XGA rated projector or 800X600 for an SVGA rated projector. This will cause your desktop to look stretched on your laptop but will give you by far the best projection image.

VT45 Projector: Blue pixels throughout screen

If the problem is what I describe as a blue haze over the entire image projected, I was told this is a defect in the cable - we have a Dell Video Projector 2300 - and it takes only a dell VGA cable.

So, the problem is in the cable - solution is replace cable.

Dell 2300mp projector

Did you ever get a solution to this? I am having the same problem with my 3200MP The machin will come up but only show a dim white box on the screen. I've purchased another bulb and that was not the problem. Angie Black [email protected]
