USA Router Work in Argentina?

Moving to Argentina taking my computer system. Of course, power to router is simple transformer replacement, but will the USA router work there. i.e. is the net the net world wide? My lap top computer worked fine on the system after the telnet motem.

Do you know what type of ISP services are available in Argentina. The two main types of broadband is Fibre Optic and the other is ADSL. It would depend on the ISP you were signed up with whether or not it is compatabile.

Hi, this router that you have works with DSL/Cable internet service provider. If in Argentian you have either of the 2 services then you can use the router. If you have ADSL service then you cannot use this router.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

If I have helped you, please help me, and rate this suggestion the highest

plug the computer into the modem testing dhcp
if it gets internet the modem is the dhcp server
the plug into router by itself disconnected it from modem testing dhcp if gets ip address and no internet it's the dhcp server
dhcp can be done by the modem or router. I bridged mode the modem and let the router do dhcp. of course the router must be pppoe for dsl. been years since I had DSL, hope it helps

Have cisco linkys E3000 and signal is poor from one room to another one. Is there any help to increase power etc. Rgds dodorp43do@yahoo.com

Hi, Some ways to improve signal are:
  1. Place the router in a central location
  2. Place the router on the same floor that it is mainly used
  3. Replace the antenna with a hi-gain version
  4. Replace the network card in your computer with a better model
  5. Change the channel of your router to use a less populated channel
  6. Reduce wireless interference by removing objects on the same band (e.g. most home wireless phone systems work on the same band as wireless routers)
  7. Update your firmware on your router
  8. Update the network driver on your computer
  9. Upgrade the router
  10. Make a parabolic reflector for your router:

Hope this helps. If it does, please accept and rate the solution! Contact me with any more questions you may have. Thanks for using FixYa!

On the Router there is a RESET button. Press and hold it for 10 seconds. then plug into the router and run the set-up wizard.

NOT WORKING. PLUGGED IN BUT NO POWER... had windstorm and power outage last night.

Try resetting your surge protector if there is one. If that doesn't work try a different outlet. If that still doesn't work then the problem is either in the units transformer or in the router itself. If it's in the transformer you should be able to find a replacement at any Best Buy or Walmart. However, if it's in the router, about your only real option is replacement.

Surfboard Cablemodem not communicating with Belkin Wireless Routr

If the modem is actually passing out DHCP, then you have to connect the modem to the router 4 port lan side and not the wan port. Give the router a static ip like 192.168.1.2 and you can talk to it and configure the wireless features.

hello!

are you trying to access the router setup?
are you trying to configure the router?

i have read the same problem on the supportrix forum and you may try this simple steps and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router and repeat the same steps.

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username (email address format) and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

Need help

TekFred is right - more information is needed to address the issue in detail.

A rule of thumb that generally works when using a router to share multiple computers: if it stops working due to power outages or something simple like that, unplug both the modem (the box going out to the Internet) and the router. Wait one minute. Power up your modem again and wait another minute. Then plug in the router. If that doesn't work, we can keep moving on other ideas.

If you happen to have a modem/router as a single unit, obviously this won't fix the issue.
