LE indicates a fault with the motor on the appliance.

LG suggest you switch off, wait for a minute, unplug the appliance.

Wait 15 minutes then plug it back in again.

Try the machine again.

If it's still faulty, you can try changing the Hall Sensor in the motor, this can sometimes cure the problem.

Unplug the machine and remove the rear cover. There are 4 Philips head screws. Take them out and remove the rear cover.

You should now see the rear of the motor, which is mounted to the back of the drum.

In the middle is a large bolt which holds the stator cover.

You'll need a 17mm socket and a ratchet to remove this bolt.

Remove the stator cover and place aside.

Toward the bottom-left, you will see a couple of wire bunches held to the motor by three screws. One holds a metal bracket, one actually holds a ground wire, and the last is through a plastic bracket toward the bottom. Remove these three screws and don't lose them.

Through the motor there are 6 bolts holding it onto the back of the drum assembly.

You'll need a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove them.

You will now have the motor off the back of the drum.

Disconnect the two wire harnesses from the motor.

Looking at the surface of this motor that was facing the DRUM (not the outside), you'll see two small pieces clipped onto it, toward the bottom.

The sensor you are looking to replace is the one that looks like a kitchen magnet.

It is attached by small clips. You'll see how it goes on. It's easy to remove.

Go to google and search for part number 6501KW2002A.

This will bring up an LG sensor assembly.

Double check with the supplier that this is the sensor for your appliance.

When you receive the sensor, simply reverse steps 1 through 5.

Once re assembled, try the machine again.

If still the same after this you'll need to replace the motor and/or control board.

Our washer stops (cut out) after the first wah on all programs - We purchased it less than a year ago

If your dishwasher is less than a year old, it's possible you still are covered by the manufacturers warranty. If you still contain your date of purchase, it's possible you can call for LG OEM service.

Is your unit displaying any sort of error code on it?

How much does a broken thermistor typically cost? My LG front loading washer is 3 years old...

THAT THING RARELY GO BAD. CHECK THE CONNECTIONS ON IT FIRST. UNPLUG AND PLUG CONNECTOR IN FEW TIMES. WHILE YOU DOWN THERE, PULL IT OUT COMPLETELY AND SEE IF IT COVERED WITH SOAP SCUM, GUNK, ETC. THAT WILL GIVE YOU FALSE READINGS AND GIVE YOU AN ERROR CODE FOR THE THERMISTOR

Error codes

Hello,
Here are the common error codes for the LG machines.

LG Washing Machine Error or Fault Codes

If you have a LG Washing Machine you may see an error code come up and wonder what it is. Here are the common error or fault codes that will be displayed on the LG machine.

OE

This means that the washer has tried for ten minutes to drain the water out of your machine and the water did not drain out.

UE

This means that the load in the drum is out of balance causing excessive vibration when spinning.

IE

This means that the washer has not filled with water in 8 minutes.

LE

This means that the motor and the control panel are not talking to each other properly

PF

Power Failure – The power has gone out to the machine and then has come back on

FE

This means that there is too much water in the machine

PE

This means that the water level sensor is not working properly

CE

The washer motor has received and over current condition

TE

This means that your heating sensor is not working properly

SE

This means that you had a temporary sensor error

HE

This means that you had a temporary heater problem

DHE

This means that you had a temporary dry heater problem

This will give you a basic idea of what has caused your error code.

. I have a LG WD12126RD front load washer dryer

This is a heater error. The heater element is open and not working. This is usually the problem but it could be other things also. You need a service call from an LG tech.

Error code upside down FE

I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old
man who has been making his own repairs for about
50 years. Therefore the washer ID doesn't mean
much to me. It's been about 55 years since I had
experience with front load washers. However I can
suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com where
they have very good trouble shooting and repair
information on front loaders. I think you'll find what
you need there. You can search for the meaning of
the error code on the site.Don't worry about the
timer, they hardly ever go bad.Good luck with it.

LG WM-2277 displays LE

I have exactly the same problem. The motor is covered by a 3 year warranty. You'll have to pay for labour. I will not buy any LG product in the future. Its junk.
Technician said the motor requires replacing. I believe its a computer module error. Some people were advised to unplug the machine for 2 hours and allow the computer to reboot! This does not sound like a mechanical issue. Whatever it is the machine is poorly developed and completely overpriced. Customer service is non-existent. Website is cumbersome and unhelpful. looks like a money grab to me by Lucky Goldstar (yes, LG is the new name for Goldstar, a low end appliance manufacturer of the past)

Lg 2277h won't spin

More than likely, you have a problem with the balance ball sensor in the back of the unit if it so equipped.  It is located in the back of the unit and will require an LG qualified tech to see what's going on.
