Question about Sony STR-DE335 Receiver
Disconnect all speaker wires then turn the receiver back on. If "Protect" does Not come on, re connect your speaker wires one by one, making sure all braids are twisted neatly and no longer than 1/2". Then turn the receiver back on after each speaker is connected to test. If all speakers are re connected and the receiver still plays, you got it! problem solved! (this is the most common problem) it happens to us all!. Now, if the receiver immediately goes into protection with all wires disconnected, it would actually be about the same cost to replace the unit as repair. Avg repair between 125-175. Hope this helps.
