No power getting through

My machine was not used for several months. When I plugged it in it turned on normal, but in a few minutes there was no more power to it. I have checked all connections - is there a fuse or something else that could casue this?

What do you mean by power adapter that needs to be changed - it is just a power chord like a computer has. Are you talking about something else? Or what do you mean by the power system in the machine?

I cannot get my Xerox Phaser 8500 to show any power when I plug it in. I have checked my cables and they work on another printer - so its not that. Do you have any ideas what else I can check?

Hello there, yes you have blown an internal fuse as you initially suspected. You have confirmed this by checking the power cables so you know that it is isolated to the internal workings of that Xerox printer. There is a good chance that it could be under warranty still and will be replaced for free. Either way you will need an authorized Xerox technician to work on it. You can reach Xerox at:

1-800-ASK-XEROX or 1-800-275-9376

Their hours are:

Monday - Friday (except holidays)
8:00 AM - 7:00 PM ET, United States
8:30 AM - 6:00 PM ET, Canada

They will be able to help you schedule service, or get you the right part. Or they can point you in the direction of an authorized repair person in your area.

Sorry that there is no easy fix that we could provide for you! Please give Xerox a call, I think they should be there tomorrow (unless they consider it a holiday as some businesses are).

Thanks sir!

Try changing the power adapter. As far as I know there is no fuse in this model. Consult your service manual for any information on the fuse. Most likely the power system inside the printer has gone bad.

yes, try changing the power cord. Power system means the unit that converts the AC voltage into the desired voltage as required by the different electronic components.

Eh, I can't be too sure, but it sounds like it's either a heat issue, a signal issue, or a backlight issue. Either way, if it's still under warranty I'd send it in.

First, Check your wii adaptor, In normal conditions the wii adapter provides the output 12volt. You can test the output using multimeter or a 12volt lamp.

then
plug it into the outlet, If the light is still off/flashing, disconnect the AC Adapter unplug from the wall outlet, wait 2 minutes and plug it back into the outlet. Turn the console power ON.

hopefully this help..

Flashing orange light generally indicates battery low charge could be your battery at fault
the next time you try and power on and it doesnt work, take the battery out (unplug AC) and try to run just on AC power
hope helps, let me know if can help further

What does "IE" mean when it attempts spin cycle?

is it IE or LE please confirm it. if it is LE code the fixing procedure is given below This usually happens if you're washing on a delicate setting with a moderate load of clothes. Apparently, delicate also means very few items to wash. To clear the LE code - no need to unload the clothes:
1. Press the power button to turn the washer off.
2. Press the power button to turn the washer back on.
3. Cycle the spin cycle selection to 'no spin'.
4. Press start.
The washer should set to one minute, lock the doors, then drain out the excess water.
Once the 'End' cycle comes up, unplug the machine for several minutes.
Plug the washer back in, press the power button, then set the washer to 'normal' with 'low' spin setting.
Note that the only difference between the normal setting and delicate is the wash time and spin cycle speed. If you have a moderate to large load of delicates, use the normal setting on low spin cycle. The clothes really don't care. Also, make sure you're using 'HE' detergent - low suds. Regular degergent in a front load is not recommended.
