Horizontal line on screen sometimes

Generally horizontal lines are caused by the panel failing, you can try a new tcon but I don't think it will help.

Hello
There must be some loose contact with the t'Con board of your tV. Just look for it. Just unplug and replugh all the strip wires goes to T'Con board. This must solve the problem to your Tv. OK.

We have a 27" MTS Stereo color TV. There are white horizontal lines at the top of the screen. We do have a DVR with Direct TV. How do we fix?

U can't.Only horizontal lines on the top parts of the tv screen or the lower parts of the picture screen.Or very light horizontal lines mix in with the tv screen pictures. The "CRT" the picture tube is slowly dying of old age.Quicker than they supose to.The late 90" these problems case show up alot more in standard tvs using CRT tube.Because the CRT and analog design about to be faze out of the market place. The glass molding and those radiation matrials, they used to make those "CRT" picture tube materials, not as good as before.

Tv not working

this symptom, sometimes called the tube light effect, it is characterised by a bright thin horizontal line across the middle of the screen. this symptom is caused by a breakdown in the vertical deflection circuit. hence maybe the trouble maybe in the vertical oscillator, amplifier or output circuits. but if all i have said is not clear to you, better bring it to a qualified tv technician. good luck!

Horizontal 'pinstripe' lines on all channels

sound like the screen control on the flyback is set just a little too high. the flyback has the red wire attached to the tube. the flyback has 2 small adjustable controls. if you look close enough 1 is marked focus & on is screen. turn the screen slightly to the left & look at your picture. the screen is like a master brightness & if it's up too high you will see what is called retrace lines. good luck.

No picture

You have an intermittant vertical sweep circuit! It could be the vertical out put IC solder connections on the printed circuit board, or maybe the IC itself has poor connections between the IC and the contact legs that mount the IC, or another componet in the vertical sweep circuit. If you know how to solder and unsolder, work on printed circuit boards, then you shoul have no problem replacing the vertical sweep circuit. Good Luck
