Cordless Logitech optical mouse scroll wheel stopped working

Last week the mouse stopped working and 2 new AA batteries were inserted. As of yesterday, the scroll wheel has no effect. Otherwise the mouse works well. This mouse worked well for about a month on a new Dell 420 Vostro.

    DRJANI,

Thanks. We cleaned the scroll wheel and the mouse pad with, changed the new battery to another new battery, and linked again with the reset mechanism. It took several tries to get it to link again, and in the interim the cordless keyboard stopped working, and the mouse stopped working. Before doing this cleaning process, we ascertained that the scroll wheel worked while on the internet, but not in our word processing program (WordPerfect). The scroll wheel still does not work in WordPerfect.

DRJANI, the computer was restarted after cleaning the scroll wheel and mouse pad with cleaner, and the scroll now works in WordPerfect. Thanks.

Haven't used mouse in a while. Green light on

Hello,

Yes, new batteries should correct this problem for you. It's recommended if you will not use the mouse for more than 2 weeks, take the batteries out.

Good luck

Most opticals do not track on smooth white surfaces. It needs textures or color. Try pressing the "CONNECT" button on the bottom of the mouse and on the remote sensor.

LX7 Mouse False Low Battery Reading

I have found that sometime these Rodents seem to have a "Taste" for a certain "Type" of AA or AAA cell, one needs to get the Highest Discharge rate one can get. Often the "Brand" of Batts supplied are the "Only" ones that seem to work 100% alla time? I have had similar problems with customers B4, and I find the Varta series of battery to be great. & remember just because you bought them "New" don't mean the Batts are always "Fresh", get batts from a place that has a high turnover.
