Hitachi settings New tv. No first time installation screen, just blank screen with blue tint, please advise

Hi,

you would need to use your display settings to change the tint. There might be a tint or a hue option that you can press with the display settings. Thank you.

Go to menu, picture and adjust as desired

My tv has a yellow tint on it it is a 60 inch hitachi.

The Optical Block is causing this. Due to the cost of replacing I would call Hitachi at 1800-448-2244 and see if they would be will to help you with the cost.

I had the same problem with my 60V500A about a year ago. The screen got a red tint in the center and the image was fuzzy in that area. A new lamp didn't solve the problem. I did some checking and found out that the original light engine used in this model had a cooling issue that could cause the light engine to overheat and distort the LCD panels. My warranty had run out more than a year before this happened so I figured I was screwed since the light engine was so expensive. I decided to call Hitachi tech support and see if I could get a discount on the cost of a new light engine since the cooling problem was a known issue for this model TV. I calmly explained to them that I was aware of the cooling issue in the light engine and that I felt like a $4000 TV should last more than two or three years. Tech support gave me the phone number for my local authorized Hitachi service center and I gave them a call. Once the technician confirmed that it was the light engine that was the problem Hitachi sent him a replacement light engine at no cost to me. I was WAY past my warranty period so I still had to pay for the labor to replace the light engine. $300 for labor was a lot cheaper than buying a new light engine or tossing the TV and buying a new one. I have to say that Hitachi earned my respect for admitting there was a problem and doing what was needed to correct the problem more than a year after my warranty had expired.

I have the same problem with blue haze that just spread out on model 55VS69A ,
tv is almost 2 years old. i called hitachi and they advised to call a local repair center to check the tv...they confirmed Optical Block (light engine ) replacement light engine cost $1400 and labour $400, so i called back hitachi and they said they will provide light engine and will have to pay labour!....this is not right paying out of pocket for a tv less than 2 years old....I am not sure if the issue will resurface again...more likely ....Hitachi is supposed to issue a recall or atleast like sony did to cover all cost for there defective TV's....I will NEVER buy hitach again.

Please perform the following checks

The auto-focus won't work properly until BOTH Convergence amps are replaced and several 2 - 3 watt resistors are replaced...Hitachi has a KIT with these parts to ensure a reliable repair for the customer and the TV Tech

In the video setting go down to reset. You will only need minor adjustment after a reset.

simply tease the blue transition patch with a positive charged magnet

first try going to the menu on the tv and adjusting the red blue and green tint....if not the u need to remove the front pannel and move the the the top left knob on the setting to lower the tint...
