Asus 1101HA battery isn't charging

Hi,

Is the battery a Nicad or Li-ion type, if Nicad, then that is the culprit.

Nicads are notorious for retaining memory from last charging, therefore the next charge starts from the last time it was charged. Li-ion batteries don't have a memory issue, so they recharge fully.

I hope this has been helpful.

Regards,
Peter

Error 98 is my problem and nobody can tell me how to fix it?

Error 98 & 99 means a NONSPECIFIC error message.

It may be a lens problem. It may be a shutter problem. It may be a battery problem. It's Canon's way of saying "Something happened, and we don't know exactly what, but we know it isn't right". You're going to have to try to narrow it down by using fresh batteries, trying different lenses, trying different shooting modes, shooting wide open in AV, manually focussing, turning off IS if you have it.

In short, if it happens regularly, try to identify what you're doing when it happens and how that differs from when it doesn't. But don't expect somebody else's solution to work for you. Their camera may have a different problem.

Are you try contacting the Canon Support?

Hello! I've a couple of battery packs yaesu FNB27. The old NiCad batteries do not work. I want to replaced it by new LiH type. What is the best way to open the battery case without damaging it? thanks...

It's difficult to open the Vertex packs without ruining them. FNB27 is widely available on eBay or you can get them from manufacturers such as W&W in Hicksville NY online. I don't know if anyone has made them in Lithium Ion yet.

What batteries work with this camera

The L4 uses two AA batteries. You can use disposable alkalines and lithiums, or rechargable NiMHs and NiCads. Make sure you use two of the same type. If you use rechargables, you'll have to charge them outside the camera using a separate charger.

Recently bought Craftsman Lithium battery & charger that failed.

Sounds like your charger is only for NiCad batteries. With most brands, the new Lithium chargers will also charge the old NiCads, but the old NiCad chargers will not charge the new Lithium batteries. You will be very happy with the lithiums once you are able to fix the problem. As for Craftsman, buy Craftsman hand tools such as wrenches and sockets but I'd look elsewhere for battery powered tools.

Make sure that you use the correct type of batteries some cameras prefer Alkaline or Zinc Carbon both at v1.5 some only can take 3 rechargeable Nickel Cadmium (Nicad) Cells at 1.3V (3x1.5v= 3.9V) or one Lithium Ion at 3.6V

Be careful if you put a 1.3V NiCad Rechargeable in a camera that was designed for 1.5 Alkaline it can damage the camera and you may experience similar problems to that you have now.

Always check that you are using the recommended batteries, this is why most manufactures supply there own Lithium Ion 3.6V rechargeable K type cells to avoid this type of problem.

Battery chargers-can I use it for all my batteries

I would say not.
I have a charger that can do Nmhi and Alkaline but you need to throw a switch. You can't put NiCad in it at all. I know the voltage in the NiCads is lower and the other chargers will cause them to leak or even explode.

Camera will not power on

Are you making sure that you are using Alkaline batteries? Regular batteries won't work. Even rechargables will only work if you first put in alkalines and change the battery type in the menu, then put in the NiMH batteries (not NiCads).

Types of batteries.

You can use AA disposable batteries (alkaline or lithium) or rechargeable (NiMH or Nicad) batteries. Lithium batteries last much longer, but are generally quite a bit more expensive than alkaline batteries. You should never mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries. If you use Nicad batteries, it is recommended that you use a Nicad conditioning charger to extend the life of the batteries. Note: If you use rechargeable batteries, you will need a battery charger. The camera's AC power supply does not recharge batteries.
