yes...check the check valve. A one-way directional valve, this part is also known as a DUMP valve. It opens when too much pressure builds in the hand wand (when not spraying water) in order to protect the pump, by returning the high pressure to its source reservoir. I suspect the DUMP valve is stuck in open condition (or nearly open).

Most pressure washers when their gun is released, the machine stops automaticaly. This is done ny means of a control valve. When the gun is closed...pressure is built and the control valve moves and switches a micro switch off. In your case the micro switch is still closed in off position. Now this happens if a machine is left and stored with pressure in it., This control valve could get jammed and leaving the micro switch in off position. It could also stay in off position by sticking, due to incorrect chemical.
So the control valve or even called spill valve, must be renewed.
Sometimes a little lubrication with the right type of silicon grease will get the control valve working again. This job is sometimes delicate and better done by a qualified technician.

there is a loader and unloader valve on your pump bolted to it. if it frozen in the open position it will never build press. most of the time this is caused by leaving cleaning solutions in system after use and let set up for a long period. it causes the aluminum case to corrode.;you will have to dissassemble and clean if not to bad. if not your going to have to replace.

hi , the most common cause's of this fault is a deffective unloader valve or a small peice of dirt or grit caught in the pump valves , unless your quite mechanically competant i would suggest you take it back to your local Karcher service agent as to repair them your self is quite a involved process , if you want to try a repair yourself this link is quite good
