Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Why don't the ink cartridges work when I have refilled them
Some printer manufacturers have a built in copy counter that disables the cartridge after the number has been reached.
this is to keep you buying them as opposed to refilling.
read the package to see if yours is one of them

SOURCE: Ink Cartridge Refill Error E5
press and hold (stop/reset) for at least 5 seconds, then release it. It will tell the printer that refilled ink tanks are installed. Therefore, allowing printing to continue.

SOURCE: Refilled my Dell Ink Cartridge
It's never going to recognize a product that is not original even if it's refilled in the Dell cartridge. That's happened to me--you get used to it. Dell just wants you to get it from THEM and not from any where else. I have a 922 All-in-One....It's been good for the past 3 years.
