Hi i have hp pavilion dv6500 vista i changed it to windows xp and now i cant play any sound there is no sound device

When you are going from vista back to xp windows it is hard to find the supported device drivers. The only thing I can suggest is go to to see if they support xp audio driver, failing that do a google search for your make and model to see if somebody has come up with a solution.

No sound driver working on my gateway notebook pc

Did you check the Device Manager, the audio driver, has it a yellow ? against it or is it OK and enabled? If it is has the MUTE button been ticked?
If it has a yellow ? against the audio driver then the correct audio driver was not installed. Go to the Gateway Support/download page to download the correct XP driver for your model laptop's audio device and install it.
If the sound still doesn't work check Device Manager to see if the driver was installed and working.

Sound problem

Hi thr,
If u r runnin Windows XP, Go to control panel. click on system->hardware->Device Manager n check to see if the sound drivers r installed properly. If the lists shows a yellow exclamation mark on PCI DEVICE, It means u need to install microsoft universal audio articeture drivers first. u can search for it on yahoo or any other searchengine to get the link. download and install microsoft uaa drivers, Uninstall the PCI device from device manager and re-install the audio drivers. I hope it works this way. Thank u

Well, probably they forgot to reinstall audio driver.
Check first that your volume is not at minimum ar audio had been muted, check from 'audio mixer' or from 'control panel/sound, speech.../adjust audio volume'
If volume and mute are ok, download driver from this website and install it again.
You need to select your model, your OS (windows version), and then audio or sound driver download.
Once you download the audio driver (chose save) run the download.
If you do it properly it will work again.

Sound drivers

I hope you want drivers for xp ,because vista automatically install most of the drivers for the components which are attached to system by its own database from the vista dvd

Remember Installing only audio drivers will give you error .so to solve this problem first you have to download microsoft universal audio driver and then install audio drivers

Audio Drivers for xp
link 1 :microsoft universal audio
link 2 :conexant high definition audio

you can use this link for xp other download from hp website

or you can use this link for vista

Low feed backs hurt my ratings and I tried my level best to resolve the issue. so it will be highly appreciated if you could take a minute and provide your feedback..
Thanks for using fixya support..You have a wonderful day
