Well dear, there is no procedure to personalize the desired tones as ur message tone, u can only change the tones that are pre-loaded. but yes for making a caller ringtone, u have to use Zune software. change the attributes of ur desired ringtone. set the genre of the tone as 'ringtone.' thats all
You could download a free MP3 tone for your MyPhoneS21 for free by:
1. Go to www.zedge.net. You could also visit other sites offering free MP3s.
2. Search for the mp3 tone you want to download.
3. Download it via "PC Download".
4. Create an e-mail message.
5. Attach the MP3 tone to your e-mail message.
6. You could send the e-mail message to yourself or to one of your e-mail accounts.
7. Open your e-mail message using WAP from your MyPhone S21.
8. Download the attached MP3.
9. Save it to your phone.
10. Set it as your ringing tone.
Enjoy! Hope this helps!
Actually, there is a way!! If you go to the menu and settings, and then sound profile...click on normal (silent, driving or outdoor)...click on the actual word (not the blue button on the right)...then you'll get some choices. Select 'voice call ringtone' and in the upper right corner, you can pick 'call, message or phone'..pick message. then, hit the 'voice call ringtone' and select your tone. if you have one downloaded, you can hit 'tones' in the bottom right corner and it brings you to your downloaded tones. hope this helps!
If you want to change the Tones of the Incoming Messages:
Menu--Settings--Phone Profiles--Click the Arrow next to the profile you
have already been using--on the top You will see an arrow facing
download (a drop down menu button)--click--select New Messages--on
clicking the Message Alert Tone box you will see loads of tones that
you would want to select--in case if you want any song or tone that you
have on you mobile to be your default message alert--select "sounds" at
the bottom--select the "arrow" on the top go to the directory where you
have the tones..select it and "Add" and then click "Save"
helped...Let me know if there's any problem...
not sure if this will work but go into downloaded ring tones pick one see the options and see if it says set as ringtone or message tone it should work also try going into profiles and perzonlize and go to ringing tone and pick downloaded tones hope that helps
it's because the text alerts and alarms etc. all require a different file format than what the presets are...notice the preset tones already on the phone are ".mmf?" well most downloaded/bluetoothed/purchased ringtones are mp3s, not mmfs. i have the same phone..and i am fed up with this stupid problem. i don't know how to convert the file type..sooo i guess we're stuck at stupid.
