Problem for Canon PowerShot A70 Digital Camera
No pictures on display screen

when I turn on the camera the display screen has colored vertical lines and a spider like black object in the upper right corner. I can still take photos and they can be downloaded-but no image on screen...help!

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:
