My F4180 printer is not printing the right colours - especially when trying to print photos. The problem is mainly in the red area ie bright yellow is printing out as bright red. do I need to recallibrate...

Hi Angela

Well this is a problem with the cartridge and also the software.

Cartridge:
1. Try to clean manually and see if you are getting all the colors (C,M,Y)
2. Install back in the printer and try to clean from software

SYSTEM
1. Goto printer properties
2. Choose the color setting tab
3. check and see if you can find the color profile as RGB
4. Change it to CMYK profile

Restart the PC and try to print again.

My printer is not printing in color. I just replace all printer cartriges

Check the printer properties to make sure printing in color is enabled. Sometimes automatic will not print in color right away.

Print with single cartrige. I rarely use color. The color cartrige ran dry and nothing will print in b&w until I buy a new color cartrige ( for about $37.50) and install it. HOW DO I BYPASS THIS...

as long as the color print cartridges remain in the printer you should be able to print in only black and white.
If the error message does not come up and prompt you to chose this option, you should be able to tell the printer to print in black .

(1) go file print or print
(2) a gray box will pop up click on properties
(3) Click color
(4)click gray scale

This should do it for you!
(5) select black print cartridge only

My HP Officejet 6210 All-in-One keeps rejecting my color cartriges. I am willing to just print in Black, but it blocks all print jobs. Any ideas on how to by-pass the color cartrige block?

uninstall the software by going into add/remove programs. Then look at the color cartridge and make sure its an original HP cartridge and not one of the 3rd party type of color cartridges. Try to use originals if you can so you don't run into the printer rejecting them.

With the operating system clean of the software go thru the steps in this guide to make sure everything is being installed properly:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00238458.pdf

This will make sure that the cartridges are installed and that the software is being reinstalled so nothing is corrupted.

If the printer is still blocking print jobs or rejecting cartridges then you know that its either a printhead problem or a main board issue, either way you would have to get the printer replaced.

The HP 6300 Officejet printer at my office will print black just fine, but will not print a drop of color. Even the on the test page the color sections are either blank or pale grayscale.

This is one of three problems. The ink cartridge is overfilled, it needs cleaning or alignment, or it is dried out and you need to purchase a new cartridge. If it is dried out, you cannot refill it. The sponge inside is dry and cannot be fixed. Another problem could be in your printer settings. Did you check to make sure that your setting are not on grayscale (black cartridge only). To do this, when you go to print, click File - Print - then click Properties. There should be a tab in that area that will tell you if it is on black ink only. Try to make sure the cartridges are clean and/or replace them. This usually fixes the problem. Cheers.

My HP 6200 Printer won't print in color.

Check to see if u removed the plastic cover that is over the dispenser slot on the cartridge. Check the maintenance options. This is most likely where u will find what u need. Clean the heads and print out a test page while u are there. If none of this works, check the seat where the color cartridge sits to see if there are any obstructions preventing the sensor from recognizing the cartridge. Maybe some ink spilled on to that or it is dirty. Also, some office printers want you to tell it u installed a new cartridge so that it runs a few installation routines.

Color not printing after Ihad pulled out a jamed paper

It sounds like I would check in the printer properties for this printer and under the "color" tab see if "print in grayscale" is checked. If you have tried multiple color print carts and still no color, it would have to be a setting issue. What if you print a test page from the printer screen it self? Go to the menu on the printer, and either select to print a self test page, or also try to copy a color document...this would help to eliminate the printer or the computer as the problem...
