What is causing my car to run very rough after it rains? This car runs fine after the engine has warmed up but barely runs after sitting outside during a rain storm.

Take some WD40 and spray it on the spark plug wires. If the problem goes away, then you have a bad wire/s. When it rains the moisture causes a misfire in the break in the wire. The WD40 disperses the water and give temporary relief. You can do this until you get a chance to change the wires. Once the car is running fine the problem should not come back since the heat of the engine will keep the wires dry.

Sounds like you need new wires and or cap and rotor, had the same problem on my jetta 1.8L when I would drive it in heavy rain it would bog down and misfire. The water blows threw the rad right onto your distributor and wires causing the short (old and cracked or just defective). Try it out I'm sure that will fix it.

Water is probably leaking onto your engine somehow and shorting out the plugs.
