Hotpoint wf540p - How do I remove and ref...

I have identified a fault with my Hotpoint wf540p washing machine's heater element. I have access via the removable access panel at the rear of the machine and I have also removed one of the spines from inside the drum for improved visibility and accessibility. Please can you let me know how to remove the old element from the drum assembly.
