Okay, First of all save your .SMV file on your my documents folder. Copy it on to the root of your mp3/mp4 player. Root is just F:\ (or your mp3 player letter) for example F:\sheep.smv, if that doesnt work make a folder called MVIDEO all together caps. again F:\MVIDEO\Sheep.smv

If you download the RCA easy rip software. This software should have come with your player, but you can get it from The RCA mp3 player site. It will take mpeg4,avi , wmv and will auto convert the files to .smv
Log onto the RCA website and download the RCA SMV Video Converter. The Opal only plays videos that are in one specific format. This converter will put your videos into that exact format (see Resources below).
Install the RCA SMV Video Converter once you have downloaded the software.
Open the RCA SMV Video Converter software to begin putting videos onto your RCA Opal.
Connect the RCA Opal to your computer using the USB chord that came with the device.
Wait until the RCA SMV Video Converter software reads that the device has been connected. You will know this when the bottom of the software screen reads “Player Detected: Opal 1GB 2GB.”
Select the “Browse” option to find any videos that are on your computer which you wish to add to the RCA Opal.
Click the box next to “Transfer output files to OPAL 1GB 2GB after conversion is complete” after you have selected all of the videos which you wish to convert. This will automatically add the videos to your RCA Opal after they have been converted.
Click the “Convert” box after you have selected all of the videos. The videos will automatically begin to convert to the correct format. Once they have been converted, your videos will automatically upload to your RCA Opal.
It plays video in smv format. I was just able to figure out how to do it and now it works great. The main thing to remember is to use the converter that came on the software (came with the philips mp3 player) and it will work.
I tried to use a 3rd party application to convert to smv format and when I loaded it onto the philips 3020 it wouldn't play. I used the the software it came with and it worked.
The tricky thing about this software is that it will only work with files in wmv format and then it will convert it to smv format which will play perfectly on the philips 3020. I
n my case I had to convert from my avi format to wmv and then convert to smv just to get it to play but it was worth it.
What it meant to say was "NO FILE that I know how to play". Did you create .SMV files from your original videos? It's the only video format your player understands.
Converter software came with your player; if you don't have it, you can download version 126.96.36.199 of the SigmaTel transcoder here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/smv-convert-tool-smv-transcoder-40-thu-apr-17-2008-727-am-df829.html

SigmaTel's website (http://www.sigmatel.com/) is currently missing in action (damn all Chinese manufacturers anyway). If it reappears, you should also be able to find the transcoder there.
Press rewind button or fast forward button in main menu to select Movie function and press play button to enter Movie play.
(1) This player supports the playing of movie files in SMV format. Convert the desiredmovie（MPG，AVI，WMV format） to SMV format with transcoder software（video2smv.exe）in the attached CD (if any) or save in the player or downloaded from Internet.
(2) Movie should be put in MVIDEO folder of the player. If there is not such folder, please create one. Please note that the player cannot find those movie files if theyare not put in MVIDEO folder of the player.
