When i make a left hand turn or a u turn in my smart fortwo car the horn starts beeping what is wrong with it and how do i fix it

Probably a bad horn switch in the steering column.

Could be.
Yes, change the battery in the hand held unit first.

Next could be the control unit.
Next could be that there is something brocasting in the area that is near the same frequency.
Does this only happen at home? Or has it happened in other areas also?

Is this a factory unit? Or an aftermarket install?

there could be a ploblem with the key itself. you will need to replace the transponder key.

It may be just a 10 year service light, or may need replacement parts, In australia technicians can reset the light for a couple of hundred dollars, so check your phone book under air bag servicing\repairs in your area, and get some other prices.

  • Power on the car to IG-ON or READY. IG-ON will do for this purpose.
  • Using the Trip/ODO button, set the Trip/ODO display to ODO - not Trip A or Trip B
  • Power off the car.
  • Now power the car to READY (brake on). This is required so that step 6 works correctly.
  • Immediately, within 6 seconds of powering on, press and hold the Trip/ODO button for 20 seconds or more. Do not release, just hold it for 20 seconds.
  • Then WHILE STILL HOLDING ODO button, shift the "gear" selector from Park to R, then press the Park button. Now release the Trip/ODO button.
  • If the last step was successful, b on or b off should be displayed in the location where the Trip Odometer or Odometer is normally displayed. b on is beep on, and b off is beep off.
  • Press the Trip/ODO button to toggle the mode to the one you want.
  • Now power the car off to exit the toggle mode.
  • Power the car on to READY and confirm the reverse beep status by shifting to R. The beep should not be audible if b off was selected, and should be audible if b on was selected.

    Ref: Smart Car fortwo Passion 2004 698cc semi auto model I cannot find any catches or levers to open the front panel so I can top up the windscreen washer. How do I do it please.
    You can not open the panel it self. to top the windscreen washer , face the car and you will see 2 small grills under the windscreen , remove the one to the left , you can see a small plastic bolt in the middle of it , just turn it half a turn and remove the small grill , look inside you will see the windscreen water canister , remove cap and fill with water , close cap , put the grill back , lock with the bolt , and you are done. good luck

    ABS and Traction control stay on after smart car is started
    Although I am unfamiliar with the smart cars, it sounds like you just need to reset your computer. Remove the negative cable from your battery, then flip your lights on, pump the brakes, press the horn. What this will do is drain all the capacitors including the ones in your computer. Ultimately it will reset your computer (aka turn off the ABS and TC light) hope this is helpful and good luck
