Here you go.............Repair Guides Explorer Sport 2002 Fuse And Relay Information AutoZone...

If compressor not engaging, could be low on R-134 from a leak in the system. There is a low pressure switch in the system that prevents it from coming on if it's low on R-134.

You need to check two things for Ford A/C:

1) Verify that the proper levels of old/r134a are present, you can do this your self it takes only a cheap gauge and a thermometer, you will need to check both the low and high side pressures.
What you are looking for is that both sides read what they should for the ambient temp outside, at 95F it is around 42 on the low side and 275 on the high side.

2) Make sure the A/C clutch is kicking in.

Most problems are going to be ring leakage that causes low fluid levels, or a hole in the dryer that does the same thing. If you have proper levels and the clutch is still not locking in and turning the compressor and you do not have the tools or knowledge to start replacing parts take it to a shop and have them look at it.

If you want to post the results of the above test I will try to help more.

SOURCE: 2002 Ford Explorer - Drivers side door lock, rear

Aside from the fuses, your drive side power door lock may be failing to work because of a bad door-lock relay system, or, alternatively, the locking switch/button, itself, is not malfunctioning and in need of replacement.

A great handyman site that specifies the above probable causes and more is the following link:

Good luck!

SOURCE: 2002 ford ranger air conditioner is not working.

on the central fuse box inside the vehicle there are fuses 12, 10, and 2
on the under hood fuse relay box 7,17,25,16.
check those and report back.

It sounds like blower motor has failed. Motor is located behind glove box on lower part of heater box.

Why won't the air conditioner blow air?

The very first thing you need to do is to check for fuses or say faulty fuse. Secondly check fan which starts along with air conditioner, it might be manually switched off or the fan may have been clogged. Also reason can be lack of refrigerant - charge your air conditioner with refrigerant. Last thing you need to check is cooling coil - the cooling coil may freeze if there is no refrigerant in the system.

The air conditioner on my 2002 Ford explorer does not cool anymore.

hello cron.... most likely cause is that it just needs to be recharged with coolant. find a local garage that services ac. if it is just the coolant issue you will be chilly again for about 40 dollars. Joe
