There should be a locking tab on it. It will be a bright colored tab. HPs usually have a lift to the tab that will also eject the cartridge.

SOURCE: cannot remove toner cartridge

There is a manual removal option. Open the front cover. Then the top. Remove the drum. Close the front cover. (leave the top open). Move the toner housing unit so the required toner is accessable from the back. Remove.

Replace drum. Restart printer. The housing unit shoud rotate the empty spot to the front so you can insert the new toner.

Good luck.

Dumb question. Did you pull the strip from the toner cartidge? OEM or aftermarket? I would try the old cartidge and see if it changes if you don't have the old cartridge anymore I would contemplate replacing the one you just purchased or taking it back to where you purchased it and get an exchange for a defective cartridge.

Cannot print in black because color cartidge is out of ink

There is a 'low toner' override in the menu system, but if this has NOT been set already, a 'flag' will be set on the chip on the cartridges that are low/empty.

The printer needs to 'see' cartridges that are usable, i.e. NOT empty, in order to function.

It is possible to replace just the chips on the colour cartridges, but then any colour printing quality could be compromised of course, as the colours will be low/empty. You would then be able to use the printer as if it were a mono laser, just changing the black cartridge when needed

Have vertical cyan lines 1 inch wide on same side

Don't know about your "primed" toner, but go to Diagnostics and run the PQ test. See what that looks likes. Go to Disable Cartridge Check and swap the black and cyan toner. Run another PQ test. Are the lines still there and are they black or cyan? If they are cyan, the cartridge is bad. If they are black it's not the cartridge. It going to take a tech to look at it.

The yellow spot is blinking and the black dot is

the solid light means toner is low. Blinking usually means either the cartridge is out of toner or the cartridge is having a technical problem. If you pull the yellow toner cartridge and put it back in with no change in result, you will need to replace the yellow toner cartidge

Replaced black toner..now printer won't print any

In this case, actually it is not the Black toner that got depleted. Here the message being displayed indicate that one of the color Toner supply need to be replaced as it got depleted and currently the printer is printing in Black and white using the Black toner cartridge.

in this case, to troubleshoot these issues please try performing the following and check for the results.

* 1. Check for the level of the toner cartridges:

a) Check from the HP Toolbox application. Here are the steps to be performed from your PC:

* Access the Toolbox software.
* Select the Status tab.
* Select the Device status option.

Here you can check for the supplies status in terms of the % remaining for each toner cartridges.

b) By checking the supplies status from the printer control panel display.

On the printer display when printer is in Ready mode the supplies status can be checked from the supplies level indicator. Each toner cartridge and the Imaging drum level will be indicated by a bar which varies according to the level of the supplies present.

c) Print the supplies status page from the printer.

* On the printer control panel menu, press Menu .
* Use the (Right Arrow) button to select Reports, and then press Enter .
* Use the (Right Arrow) button to select Supplies Status, and then press Enter .

If any of the color toner cartridges and the Imaging drum have a low supply level replace them with genuine HP print cartridges.

The part numbers of the consumables are as follows:

* Black print cartridge - Q3960A
* Cyan print cartridge - Q3971A
* Magenta print cartridge - Q3973A
* Yellow print cartridge - Q3972A
* Imaging Drum - Q3964A

My HP LaserJet 2605dn is printing pictures with a bluish tone

Check the Colour management in printer driver on the computer - set this to Automatic.
On the printer or The HP ToolboxFX, check to see if Economode is turned on (under Print Quality) which reduces the print quality.

HP Deskjet F2100 All-in-one has two slots for printer cartidges. Which of these two slots is meant for photo cartidge?

The photo cartridge replaces the black cartridge. It is used along with the color cartridge to provide better photo's.

The photo cartridge contains photo black, light cyan and light magenta while the color cartridge provides cyan, magenta and yellow. Both photo and color cartridges need to be installed and working for proper photo printing.
