I have a Dyson DC07 Animal and the cyclone assembly will not release. This is the entire cyclone assembly where it detaches from the vacuum near the power switch. When I pull the trigger it the unit release just a little bit but will not pull out and is jammed. I did notice a small piece of purple chipped plastic that fell to the floor. I know that it's possible that I may have to buy an entire assembly, but how do I get the unit off without breaking anything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I would highly recommend that you contact Dyson directly before you go breaking anything else. Good Luck!

My dyson cyclone assembly will not spin when it...
Posted by littleladysc on Jun 18, 2008
I have 2 dyson dc07. The cyclone assembly will not spin when dirt is picked up, but when I change them out the vacuum is fine, so I know it is the cyclone assembly. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum.
It sounds to me that you may have a clog but when you said you changed them out the vacuum is fine, so a couple of things, if the vacuum is still under a factory warranty of 1 or 2 years the cyclone assm still would be under a factory warranty. If it is over the 1 or 2 years then you would have to replace the cyclone assm but you may want to check with the Dyson Factory Tech Support / customer Service line as per the problem, and they can ship you the part from the factory or to check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area and they may have one in stock or they can order one for you. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

SOURCE: Dyson DC07 Clear Bin Flap will not release
Important thing is that in order to get the rod in the hole, you have to squeeze the trigger while you are trying to do it. Squeezing trigger makes rod longer. All fixed!
clear binTM assembly from the machine.
• When removing bin, do not pull up on carry handle while pressing cyclone release catch
• When replacing the bin, ensure it clicks back into place.
