the hdd shouldn't be formatted as ntfs... most likely it's ext3, since it runs a (small) linux kernel. you don't need the mionet thingy, will only slow down your pc... anyhoo, how I solved this problem for me: 1) find out your ip-range when you are normally connected to your lan (if you say "linksys", it's most likely to be 192.168.1.*) 2) connect your drive directly to your pc 3) navigate to the drive using the web interface 4) change the ip adres to manual, and insert the proper information (I suggest using an ip-adres somewhere in the end of the range. e.g.: 192.168.1.254, also don't forget to enter the gateway and dns server (most likely to be 192.168.1.1) 5) save settings 6) connect the drive to your lan 7) connect your pc to your lan 8) connect to the drive using \\192.168.1.254 (or any other IP you gave). should work fine
