Question about Washing Machines

3 Answers

I have a Fisher & Paykel GW512. The lid wont lock to allow it to spin so constantly beeps at spin cycle. My husband has put a multimetre on the solenoid and it is producing 5 to 7 vaults. He has bench tested the solenoid and it works fine and the pump is working ok. Now when I try to reset it it constantly beeps power and spin light together. Any ideas? Thanks

    HI

I have completed diagnostic test and the following buttons illuminate:

Long wash button and the one inbetween the rinse and spin button.

    What would that be?

    Cheers

This symptom is in control panel circuit. The common causes circuit problem is cold solder or loose connection that why the machine function abnormally .Cold solder issues - each component is soldered into small holes on the printed circuit board which in turn connects said component to the other components. Due to time, heat, use, some solder joints would be cracked or loose. It is possible that the cold solder is still minimally connected (hanging by a thread). When the unit turns on heat would be generated which would be sufficient to further loosen up the solder joint to the point it no longer provides electrical contact. Jarring the unit creates movement inside enough to re establish the contact, sometime good enough sometimes not enough. Again, since the unit still operates (sometimes) then it is highly probable that there are no defective components. You just resolder all component joint parts in the control panel circuit board. Also its better you replaced that lid switch maybe its faulty.

Good luck:

Turn machine OFF on the front panel. Hold down the Water Temp Down button and press the POWER button. Release buttons. You are in Diagnostic mode. Press the spin speed up button until the hold and slow are lit. Write down the LEDS which are lit across the top row of progress LEDS.

Mw512 beeps and wont start

The lid switch sounds logical. That would certainly halt the cycle. I'm not sure what actuates the lid switch on your particular model but check it as well. Good luck.

Fisher and paykel model no GW611 washes but won't spin nor lid locks

Sounds like the lid lock has gone bad. Check the wire connections to it and if you should need to order the lock, here is their website.

My fisher & paykel washer wont start it beeps and says the lid isnt closed, but it is and there is a little ambulance that comes on the screen

I believe the lid switch is faulty, for the later modules the microswitch is mounted inside the door lock mechanism, others under the lid/top left side.

The ambulance is just saying to call for help....

Have Fisher & Paykel washer GW11. 5 yrs old. Lid won't lock, Took off to repair, then put back on, no problem, but now won't lock, so won't spin. Help!

your door needs to be re-aligned so the wax motor assy can lock the door so the unit senses its locked and can continue the wash cycles

Fisher & paykel machine locked but lid is up

It sounds like the lid lock is either stuck or broken,You will need to lift the top hob by removing the two plastic lugs where the lid rests & removeing the screws it will then lift up and you will be able to remove the lock to inspect it,Also you can remove the lid in the up position by pulling vertically to make it a bit easier,Hope this helps Cheers.

Fisher & Paykel GW612 beeps before spin.

You have fault code 66 (01000010) Phase 6- Pressure Transducer (Ptx) Error - Frequency >90kHZ. In simple terms you need to replace the main "Motor Control Module" Cheers
