I've already solved the problem: Corel PP didn't want to start, I saw just the initial logo, sometimes the window to choose "open... etc". I reinstalled all twice cleaning register and now is working. Anyway thank you!

COREL 6 is the furthest I would go, new versions [Upgrade impossible from really old versions] are too expensive for my retired status. Please see my comment on Virtual pcs.

Corel 8 will not work in windows 7

Corel Photopaint 8 will not work under Windows8, or Windows 8.1 either.

Corel advertises their CorelDRAWx7 graphics suite as being functional under Windows8, but I have to say... I have had no luck getting THAT to work under Windows8, EITHER. It installs just fine, and then when you go to open it, it hangs on the interface initialization. Literally.. hangs. Oh. And you CANNOT kill the process from the task manager, either.

I\'m very glad that I only was trying the Trial version, and didn\'t actually shell out $549 for the full program!!!! I have been using Photopaint-8 for about ten years. It\'s a very powerful editor, it\'s a wonderful program, and the ONLY reason I have to stop using it is because of my OS??? That annoys me.

So does installing a program that a company says "Works under WIndows 8" and then finding out that it WILL NOT WORK UNDER WINDOWS 8.

So don\'t waste your money on the CorelDraw suites, either, if you are stuck with Windows8. They won\'t work under the damnable OS, EITHER.

I have YET to find a freaking image editor that WILL work under this farking OS that is actually fully functional, and not missing severe levels of functionality. Congratulations, Microsoft, on pissing off artists everywhere, and then coupling that with making it impossible for us to DOWNGRADE your USELESS OS.

Don\'t waste your money on ANY of Corel\'s products until they actually become STABLE under Windows 8, folks. And I really hate saying that, because I love their products. But if they wont\' work under the OS that Microsoft has purposely and intentionally made it impossible to downgrade from, then it\'s not worth the money to buy the products...

If you edit the photos and save them at a lower resolution, then put the lower resolution photos into the document, that's the quick fix.
A program such as photoshop or corel photopaint are able to do this quite easily. In corel for instance you simply resave the photo as a jpeg, and it'll ask the resolution/quality etc. and you can reduce the resolution usually quite a bit before you lose any quality in the printout.

The other solution is to upgrade the printer's memory.

Inkjet printers usually will not have this issue because they don't need to form the complete page in memory before printing like a laser printer does. An injet's image is formed line by line in the print driver and then streamed to the printer, so the printer's ram doesn't have to take the whole page at once.

Whichever program you wish.
MSPAINT comes with the operating system, so you may want to point it there until you get a better program like photoshop or corel photopaint.

Can i get corel photo paint 8 to work with windows 7

I know it won't work right with Windows Vista, forcing me to go back to Windows XP. Now with all the daily updates from Windows for XP, I am starting to have trouble with Photopaint 8 again. It is like 15 years old, but it was one of the best graphic editors out there. I wish they would just take what they had with PP8, and make a new version compatible with Windows 7. Seems like all the Corel upgrades to PP8 changed it completely and ruined it.

My Corel Draw 8 locks up when I try to save my project. Any suggestions. I am using Windows XP

I have seen this under XP SP3. The following solved the problem for me.

Install Corel 8 from the CD. Reboot.

Get the 369 and 433 upgrades from the Corel FTP site. (Those upgrades are no longer available on the web site, but there is a pointer to the FTP site on the "Updates and Patches" page).

Apply the 369 patches. Doesnt matter what version the CD is -- the patches check to see if they need to be applied. Reboot.

Apply the 433 patches. Reboot.

Start the XP Compatibility tool. Make the settings for PhotoPaint and Draw "Windows 2000", "No XP Themes." Reboot

Spot 2 color

Photoshop. Or, Corel PhotoPaint.
If the logo is in process color, you will need to make new color breaks. To do this, you need to have an application designed for manipulating pixels. Photoshop is the end all be all. Photopaint is cheaper, but definitely more convoluted.
You could attempt recreating the art, or having someone do it for you.
