In general, when a radio turns itself off when the PTT button is pressed, it is a sign of a bad or poorly charged battery. Try trading the battery with a known good unit and see if the problem is solved. If so, replace the battery.

Kenwood TK-2200. The light comes on when you press PTT button, indicates you are transmitting.
The light goes out when you release the PTT button, if itgoes out during transmission, but your message gets through to your contact, then I don't see the problem.
If the light goes out during a transmission and you are still able to communicate, Don't worry, be happy, it's just a minor glitch with the light, no the radio.
As you haven't given me the details that I have guessed for you, I hope I have been helpful.
If it is a relatively quiet, high pitched noise, it may not even be from your speakers. I've experienced a high pitched noise whenever i plug in my AC adapter to my PSP, so there is a chance it might be power related.
The high pitch sound is comming from a power supply transformer that will resonate (or vibrate) at the operating frequency (12-14KHz).
This is usually affordable to repair -at least worth the estimate.
Hi,welcome to fix ya. if this is a bose system you have a bad amp behind the rear seat they short out inside and cause the speakers to emit a high pich squeel. you can buy these amps on e-bay pretty cheaply or send it to bose for repair .
This is caused be a bad record switch. As a temporary solution, incert a blank tape, push the record switch, then stop. Repeat about 10 times. This may clean the contacts of the record/Play switch but it will probably need to be replaced.
