Does it even try to print, or does it just sit there? If it tries to print and nothing appears on the paper, try removing the cartridges and re-installing them. (Note, however, that if they are not completely seated the print heads dry out and you may get streaky printing and will have to replace them.)

If the printer does not respond at all there are two possibilities. First, you need a new printer. Second, the computer is not communicating with the printer. This can be caused by bad wired or wireless connection or by the printer setting in your PC.

You can always take the PC and printer to a computer store and have them figure out which of these possibilities is the right one.

SOURCE: Not printing after color cartridge ran out - new black cartridge installed.

Yes, this printer has fixed printheads and must have ink in each color to prevent damage to the printheads. Even when printing black only each color is spit in the servicing area to keep the printhead unclogged.

SOURCE: hp psc 750 won't print with new color ink cartridge

To solve the printing problem..

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

SOURCE: My printer is not printing

You need to take it a couple steps further after your test print. Sounds like your print heads need cleaning or your cartridge may need aligning. It’s best to do this each time you install a new cartridge. for more information….... http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-40171-printer-not-printing-black

I don't know how to disable "keep printed documents". I have an Artisan 800 series printer.

Hi Michelle,

Follow the steps below and you will be able to fix the issue.

Click on START button
Click on Control Panel ( or Settings for windows XP )
Click and open Printers and Faxes ( or Printer folder icon )
Highlight the Printer icon and Right click on it
Left Click on Printer properties
Click on Advanced TAB on top and look for "Keep Printed Documents"
If there is a Check mark, you can Uncheck it.
If there is no check mark on it, Check mark it.
Click Apply/OK and Close the window and try to print.

If this does not resolve the issue, Try the step below

1. Open Printers and Faxes.

2. Right mouse click on the Epson printer and left click Properties.

3. Click on the Advanced tab.

4. Click the Print Processor button.

5. Under Print Processor, select WinPrint.

6. Under Default Datatype, make sure RAW is selected. Click OK.

I have a pdf document to print and it doesn't print it, and in the window box for the printer it says that 1 document is in queue (which I don't understand what queue means) and if I try to cancel the...

How large (how many pages) is the PDF document?
Try printing only the first page.
Then try only 5 pages at a time.

The queue is the disk area where the document (in print-out form) is held until the printer can service it (print it). This is known as "background printing".

Trying to print a mixed photo/text document, my i860 only prints the photo. All cartridges have ink.

This sounds like this is a web page with mixed text and photo with a colred background for the text. I think that the true color of the text is white.
Have you put the document into a word processor to change the text to a visible color?
