Cruzer micro 4GB, unreadable in USB ports

To whom it may concern:
I have a 4GB Cruzer, and it was bumped while it was in a USB port. It was immediately unrecognized by the computer I was working on, and when I removed it from the USB port, it was slightly opened. Now, I have plugged it into at least 10 different computers, and no computer recognizes it. I don't get any errors, just void. How can I fix this problem and get to what is stored on this Cruzer?
Thank you for your time.

Same problem as Becky except the Cruzer was not "bumped". It was in the process of downloading to a computer and stopped after about one tenth of the download. Light went out and now it is not recognized in another computer. It was about two thirds full when the process was started. Is this a common problem? and can it be "rebooted"? Thanks Hal

The metal socket that goes into the usb port on the cruzer, tilts as if it broken on that side and the computer can not see the cruzer.

Sounds like your USB connector of the flash drive is damaged. Could be a loose/broken solder joint, or one of the pins on the USB connector could be damaged.

If it was my drive, I would open the case, solder a new connector on the board and backup the files.

San Disk Micro Cruzer 4GB

Hi there,

Try plugging it in to a different USB port on your computer. Make sure the connecter on the Cruzer is clean and there's no dust inside.

Also, try plugging it in on a different computer.

If none of these work,
I'm afraid it's a hardware problem and there's nothing that can be done about that.

Hope I helped!
