my maxtor hard drive won't come on. it's all plugged in... checked everything... the light just won't turn on. i have all my pictures saved on it and now i can't get anything off because it won't turn on. i have unplugged everything, turned off the computer, plugged everything in, turned the computer on and still.... no life from the maxtor!

- It's an external hard drive and the OS is windows vista.

have your hard disk tested , direct to other computers, set it as slave

Maxtor is dead.Possible mother board on maxtor is burn't hook another power wire up to it.
