SOURCE: oil drain plug

Hi
It is located on the right side just under the oil tank ; if you follow the rudder hose that exits the rear right side of your oil tank it leads to the bottom of the frame under this is the oil plug. This hose has a plug clamped to the end of it or stuck into a prug that is welded to the frame.
After this unclamp and pull the plug to make sure that you have the dipstick out before pulling it loose.

Please do rate the solution as "FixYa" if found useful and revert for further assistance.
Thanks Rylee

SOURCE: how to change oil for2007 heritage softail classic

The oil drain us usually a hose with a plug in it that is held by a clip on the frame. It us usually on the right hand side of the bike just behind and underneath the transmission side cover. Loosen the clamp and pull the plug out. The oil will run out of the tank. Replace plug and add new oil to the tank.

Locating oil drain plug 2000 heitage softail?

Look at the oil tank from the right side down near the lower rear. You should see a hose going down behind the transmission. It goes on down to the lower tube on the frame behind the exhaust system. There is a metal plug in the line. Remove the plug to drain the oil.

The hose may run from the tank down to a crossmember of the frame where the shocks connect. If so, there is a plug screwed up from the bottom of the crossmember. I don't know what year they changed.

Where is the oil drain plug on2009 heritage softail classic

Although I don't normally work on bike newer than 2000 models, I don't think they've changed the oil drain on the Softail models. Look at the bottom of the horse shoe type oil tank from the right hand side of the bike. You should see a line or hose going down somewhere behind the transmission instead to forward to the engine. Follow this line down to the lower part of the frame and you'll see a plug in the line. If you take this plug out, the oil in the tank will drain out. Capacity 3 quarts H-D Syn3 20W50 oil
