Question about Maytag MER5765RAW / MER5765RAQ / MER5765RAB Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Maytag oven will not heat past 225 degrees.

I have the same problem. I have removed the bottom panel and have inspected the element and there is no visible damage. Is it safe to remove the bottom panel and turn the oven on to inspect it while it heats? Is ti possibly a problem with the heat sensor located in the cavity?

Bottom oven bottom element doesn't heat

Phil. If you do not have voltage at the element, then the Electronic Oven Control ( EOC ) has failed. Part number # 5701M403-60

In order to check for the correct voltage at the element you will need to remove power and pull the range out of its installed location and remove the back panel of the range to gain access to the wiring and element. CAUTION ! I cannot stress this enough ! There are dangerous voltages in this area!! After the panel has been removed, return power to the range, set the lower oven to bake, and check the voltage at the element. You should find 220-240 volts between the element terminals with them connected to the element. If you do not have the proper voltage then you will need to replaced the EOC.

Oven won't heat past 200 degrees

Unplug the range.
Remove the oven racks.
Remove the screws on the bake element.
Carefully pull the bake element out.
Remove the wires from the element.
Use a volt meter set for ohms/continuity and touch one meter lead to one element terminal and the other lead to the other element terminal.
No reading is a bad element/
If you get a reading your oven control is bad.

Baking element not working

Hi, UNPLUG the oven! Remove the screws that hold the element in and pull it toward you. Hopefully they were kind enough to give you plenty of wire to pull it out. Then just unplug old element and plug in new one. Some models have a screws on the element to hold the wire on to it.
I hope this helps.
Please let me kow if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Mer5755qab oven takes an hour to heat to 200

Either your bake element is bad or there is a bad connection going to the element. This is a very high current connection so bad connections are always a possiblity. Also check and make sure your broil element is working as some ovens use it for pre-heat. Do both elements seem about the same temp? You can turn the oven on and carefully hold your hand a few inches from the element to see if they are getting equally hot. If your connections are good to the elements then one of the "calrod" elements is probably bad. You can also check the resistance of each element. Not sure of exact reading but a higher resistance means less current going to the element. Just compare reading on each one and go from there. Good luck!

Oven will not heat past 300 degrees (on bake command)

Remove the bottom plate on the stove which is likely help in place by a couple of bolts at the back. Remove the plate & inspect the bake element underneath. It is probably melted or broken in some area. It it does need replacing unplug the stove from the wall & remove one of the back panels at the back of the stove which access the wiring at this height on the stove. Disconnect the element.
Installation of new element is the same but in reverse.
Good luck!

Oven won't come to temperature

sounds like you may have a bad bake element. can you see hte bottom bake element??? if not you can lift the oven bottom to reveal the "hidden bake element". eitehr way, the elemnet usually looks bad upon closer inspection. theres aburn hole in it or its completly broken. perhapseven a white powder plume from where the element went bad. if thats the case, its an easey enough partot replace yourself. 2 screws and2 wires.POWER MUST BE TURNED OFF FIRST LIVE WIRES AT ALL TIMES TO BACK OF ELEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
