Question about APC Smart-UPS 1400VA UPS System

1 Answer

APC 650 Pro not working properly.

The UPS is not supplying power to my computer and monitor when the 120V power is removed. It does supply power to a load when it is pluged in. I think the battery is ok. I checked it and it is 12.9 V. To check and see if It would work I connected a small lamp to the UPS and pushed the button to turn it on. Green light flashed on and off. and overload light, lights briefly, then green light comes on solid and the lamp lights. Lamp does not light unless UPS is plugged in. ThankYou, Richard

Yes, it has a "Replace Battery Led", but it is not on. I'm quite sure it is not the battery. The battery is about two years old and reads 12.9 volts. Turning on from a cold start, the green led flashes and test lamp lights, then the overload led flashes and the green led lights up solid and test lamp stays lit until 120V power is removed, and then test lamp goes out. Thanks for the reply. Richard

Doesn't this UPS have a "Replace Battery " LED? (Icon is a battery with an "X" in the middle.) The 650 Pro is an older model and the life expectancy of the battery is 3 to 6 years.

My question is how long is the battery inside your UPS? 5years ? coz sometimes you cannot just base on the voltage you measure on the batteries. dont forget about the current that is being supplied by the batteries maybe the battery current is too weak to handle your load. but if you are really sure that your battery is good. try to check the inverter circuit of your UPS. or send it to UPS service center if you dont know how to check electronics component.

Apc ups not powering on

hi,
check the battery voltage. if it is bellow 11v this problem can occur. apc ups starts from its battery and then only it gos to mains supply. if ur battery is deeply discharged it will not power on. in this case u have to pullout the battery from ups and charge it using battery charger. if not works replace the battery.

It may still be supplying power but the surge arrestors were probably damaged by the surge. Go to apc.com choose support from the menu bar, they should be able to help or maybe even replace your unit.

APC BACK-UPS PRO 1100VA 120V does not cold start.

When was the last time you replaced the batteries? These units will not start with old / failed batteries connected, or without batteries connected.

If you have a voltmeter, check the batteries. Your unit should have two batteries harnessed together. if you check the individual battery, you should see just over 13 volts, together should be around 26 volts. if you see less than 12.5 volts, that would be why the unit will not start.

You will have to replace the batteries if that is the case. Your BP1100 takes an RBC 7: moz-screenshot-1.pnghttp://www.refurbups.com/APC-RBC7-Compatiblemoz-screenshot.png

APC back UPS 400 fails to give back up

I have the same problem with an apc smart-ups VS 650.

New batteries - charge in batteries is good (also tested under load).

When AC power fails, no power is supplied to PC connectors by the UPS.

UPS self test works fine. UPS does not report any problems via software - Power Management under Windows XP.
