You could have RAM problems.
Reseat the RAM module/s, they may not be making proper connection. If this doen't work you may have faulty RAM. Take them out and test them in another laptop or get your friendly computer shop to test them for you.

What can I do to fix my hp pavilion tx2000 because it shows a black screen when I turn it on but everything else works fine and it even worked perfect when I connected it to another monitor by vga

You might have either a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board.
The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.

Hp pavilion dv6810us -- the screen went blank suddenly (no hint of a problem) and can't get it back to normal. I've forced shut off and turned back on (4 times over two days)...still black screen. All...

if it was the video card ...it will appear something on screen like Bios...when accessed..and affect only the installation ...I suspect the lcd connection
so...assuming is nothing inside...take a look on this tutorial

Powers up but black screen shows

1st - Try pressing <Fn> + <BrithnessUP> keys a few times, (on HP <Fn> key is between <Ctrl> key and <Windows> key, <BrightnessUP> key is <F8> key and <BrightnessDown> key is <F7> key. If nothing happens try the 2nd one.
2nd - Plugin external monitor, (type and size doesn't matter). Turn on your laptop. If you can see desktop on the external monitor, your drivers are o.k., The problem is your laptop display, NOT the graphic chip.

Hp flat screen monitor

It's probably your dc power supply.

Mine would blank just 2-3 seconds after power-on.
I pulled this monitor out of the garbage - someone threw it away. I found any old 12vdc power supply I had laying around (1 from an hp scaner 1250mA, another rated at 600mA) neither could supply the current (amps) required to run the backlights, therefore backlights shutdown, monitor goes blank--monitor stilled powered on, but black.

I tried all of the disassembly, re-solder various solder joints on the LCD Inverter board and removing the heat/magnetic shield from inside the back cover of the monitor. Nothing worked.

I bought a Segate 80gb external hard disk drive that came with a 12vdc power supply, looks like a typical laptop power supply, rated at 3A (3000mA). Plugged it to the monitor, it powered up, and it works flawlessly.
