The tv starts normal but after 2-5 minutes, starts giving double image (old image not refreshed immediately) or give colored lines both horizontal and vertical and whiteness increases. I have checked ribbon cable, power condensers etc.
I had similar problem to you , except mine was out of warranty for only a month, lol. Tried to get Samsung to replace the panel but they wouldn't, and they tried to tell me no problem with the panels on these sets, which is a load of c**p!! Excellent picture for 12 months but cheap, very cheap led panels, lol! I got quote from Samsung Parts Canada and guess what a panel costs????
How about $1900 CA!!
IF it is still under warranty, take it in to be replaced.
Testimonial: "No It is out of Warranty. I am an electronics person but not in the trade. I myself tried two things.. 1. Changed Large capacity condensors in the circuit boards 2. Thoroughly Vacuum Cleaned inside the TV 3. Checked Ribbon Cable both sides and tighten the connections using a cello tape. But nothing has changed except that time has increased from 5 minutes to 20 Minutes but not always."

I talked to a Samsung support helpline and it needs to be taken to a service center for repair.

Similar problem with an eleven and a half month old LT-40148. Approx. 1 inch vertical banding line on left side of screen on all inputs. After about two weeks, same problem on the right side of the screen.
Fortunately this occurred two weeks prior to the one year warranty expiring.
Called Mits customer service and they referred me to an authorized service center who I happened to have dealt with before.
They picked up the set. The front panel (LCD screen ) had to be replaced. Set was gone for two weeks as parts were not in stock. There was no charge. I hope this screen last more than a year.

I had the same problem....turned out it was the "lvds" cable that runs from the mainboard to the lcd controller board. Simply remove the tape that holds it to the back of the backlight housing and also remove the foil shielding tape from the connector on the lcd controller board.

had a very similar situation with my Phillips 42 in. LCD TV.
Here was my Problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened it up( Warranty
was Expired) and found several faulty capacitors on the PSB. Its
pretty common. Major Electronic companies were sold faulty capacitors
that fail in 2-5 years instead of 10-20 due to a lack of
preservatives. It wouldn't surprise me if you have the same problem.
TV will work fine for a few years and then just fail completely or
slowly deteriorate.
Here are the solutions
1. Have it Repaired
2. Check for faulty caps and if you find some(budged or leaking) you know you have located a problem
Remove the board and replace the whole thing.
3. If you have some soldering skills you can replace the faulty caps.
Caps are very inexpensive, under a dollar in most cases. I replaced 4 for about $5.00
Hope this Helps.
Good Luck
