I had similar problem to you , except mine was out of warranty for only a month, lol. Tried to get Samsung to replace the panel but they wouldn't, and they tried to tell me no problem with the panels on these sets, which is a load of c**p!! Excellent picture for 12 months but cheap, very cheap led panels, lol! I got quote from Samsung Parts Canada and guess what a panel costs????
How about $1900 CA!!

IF it is still under warranty, take it in to be replaced.

Testimonial: "No It is out of Warranty. I am an electronics person but not in the trade. I myself tried two things.. 1. Changed Large capacity condensors in the circuit boards 2. Thoroughly Vacuum Cleaned inside the TV 3. Checked Ribbon Cable both sides and tighten the connections using a cello tape. But nothing has changed except that time has increased from 5 minutes to 20 Minutes but not always."

SOURCE: vertical lines on my 40 inch lcd mitsubishi hdtv 1080

Similar problem with an eleven and a half month old LT-40148. Approx. 1 inch vertical banding line on left side of screen on all inputs. After about two weeks, same problem on the right side of the screen.

Fortunately this occurred two weeks prior to the one year warranty expiring.

Called Mits customer service and they referred me to an authorized service center who I happened to have dealt with before.

They picked up the set. The front panel (LCD screen ) had to be replaced. Set was gone for two weeks as parts were not in stock. There was no charge. I hope this screen last more than a year.

SOURCE: Negative type images in pink & lime green

I had the same problem....turned out it was the "lvds" cable that runs from the mainboard to the lcd controller board. Simply remove the tape that holds it to the back of the backlight housing and also remove the foil shielding tape from the connector on the lcd controller board.

SOURCE: Samsung 46" LCD LN46B650 started showing vertical

had a very similar situation with my Phillips 42 in. LCD TV.

Here was my Problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened it up( Warranty was Expired) and found several faulty capacitors on the PSB. Its pretty common. Major Electronic companies were sold faulty capacitors that fail in 2-5 years instead of 10-20 due to a lack of preservatives. It wouldn't surprise me if you have the same problem. TV will work fine for a few years and then just fail completely or slowly deteriorate.

Here are the solutions
1. Have it Repaired
2. Check for faulty caps and if you find some(budged or leaking) you know you have located a problem
Remove the board and replace the whole thing.
3. If you have some soldering skills you can replace the faulty caps.
Caps are very inexpensive, under a dollar in most cases. I replaced 4 for about $5.00

Hope this Helps.
Good Luck

Hi I have sharp lcd tv 19'' when I connect from my computer hdmi output to the tv it show me black screen and give me this message (not compatible with this signal)

Hi this normally happens if the refresh rate is to high in your graphics settings for the computer, try going into control panel > appearence and personalization > click on adjust screen resolution > click display and see if your TV is listed there and select it if it is, click advanced settings click on the monitor tab and adjust the screen refresh rate to a lower setting then click apply. you may have to keep trying different refresh rates or screen resolution to get the tv to work.

many computers use manufacturers software sometimes found in the lower right of the taskbar right click there or double left click to open properties find you tv model , it should be listed somewhere click on it and navigate to the screen refresh rate and try all the lower settings usually 25hz works for the uk and euorpe and 30hz works for other countries other frequencies (refresh rates) my be higher depending on the tv you have but one of them is sure to work.

Also make sure you have the latest drivers and software for your graphics card/board in your computer.

Hope this helps

Midge.

Let me know if you managed to get it to work!

Thankyou and good luck.

I have a Sony KDL40W4500 LCD TV which is only two years old and the TV has developed double/triple imaging, mainly on the right side of the screen. After about 15 minutes before I get a clear picture, but...

hi,
T-Con board failure or poor connection of flexible wire and LVDS cable. Sometimes these connection loosen up from their terminals. Try to unplug and reconnect these cables to refresh the connections. If the symptoms still persist you need to replace the T-Con board. T-Con board is installed on the upper side of your LCD TV and it has two flexible wire connected to LCD PANEL . stihl_070509.jpg

High pitched whistling

Try changing refresh frequency, color depth or resolution (wait for the whistle to appear before testing). Admittedly, you might have to give up some image quality - less colors, or less resolution. There is probably a problem in the TV syncing mechanism - if you can, try getting it replaced. "High pitched whistles" in video and TV hardware are usually harbingers of bad news.
