What causes a loud ticking noise coming from my swamp cooler? HELP
SOURCE: water is not going into swamp cooler
CK THE FLOAT THAT OPENS AND CLOSES THE water valve.. press down on float to see if water is available,if water flows float needs adjusting. If no water then check to seeit hasn't been turned off for the winter -good luck
SOURCE: Do not know how to work/maintain swamp cooler
Make sure you have water to the unit, the water pump is on and the fan is working. No water=no cooling.
SOURCE: swamp cooler works i can
just because the pump is on dose not mean its moving water. impellers can break and pump can get air lock
SOURCE: can you usen the sam air vent for heating and swamp cooler
Yes you can. I have that set-up in my house. The only problem is when moisture laden swamp cooled air goes past the heat exchanger. This could cause the exchanger to rust out, allowing carbon monoxide to come into the house when the heater is used. This can be avoidid by having a one way damper made by an HVAC shop, and installing it at the heater.
