It was about a couple days ago that my webcam just didnt work anymore for me. I wanted to use it on MSN one day with one of my buddys and the blue light at the top of it never turned on. Then a message where the image should be ssaid that there was no device plugged in. What the hell! Its built into my computer how could it not be plugged in! And i tried finding devices for it, found nothing, just different devices for other cameras. Bad thing is, is that i accidently unstalled it, thinking there may have been a pop up that may give me options to uninstall or repair the issue. Guess not eh? Well can anyone help? Im in desperate nee.

If the web cam is working normally with other web cam applications but MSN then it's required to configure MSN to use the web cam. Please follow the steps given below to configure MSN to use the web cam.
(i) Please ensure that the web cam is turned ON. (ii) Then, double click the MSN icon and log on. (iii) Click on the Tools menu, then click on the audio/video tuning wizard. Then, click Next to start the wizard. (iv) On the first wizard page, under Camera, click the web cam then click Next.
Performing all the above steps will configure MSN to use with the web cam. In order to start a video conversation, follow the steps given below after signing in MSN: (a) Click Action, then point to audio/video. (b) Then, click start a video conversation. (c) Select a contact from "My contacts" page then OK.
Hey you know what !...its not problems with your cam or OS but its problem with MSN. Please use updated or NEW VERSION of MSN and then you will be able to use all features of your webcam while chatting on MSN or Yahoo!
as ive told others, make sure u actually turn off the software program that came with the computer before using with msn! u should be able to have it on while using it but for some reason some computers wont allow it! it "tells itself" that there are 2 programs trying to run the web cam when really only one is. but because the program is on, it sees it as being used in 2 places at 2 different times!
try turning off and exiting the software (dell webcam manager) and then go onto msn and try using ur web cam!! make sure the dell manager is exited, then when u have a msn window open, turn the cam on and see if ur friends can see u then..
good luck.. if this doesnt work ill check back and see what i can do for you!
No, most likely some resident software is accessing the camera, or the camera needs updated drivers. try updating to the newest software and make sure the cam software isnt booting up before the MSN client
go to the internet provider customer service or techincail support and explain the problem and they will email you with the right information or the next day when you turn on the machine you have some software toupdate or fixs from msn on the web cam and sound issues resolve
Use that site to download your drivers Use www.hwinfo.com, download software to find the maker of your webcam. Download as many drivers that match. If a driver does not fit your system your computer will recognize it and reject it.
