The timer has failed. You can order a timer from http://www.apwagner.com/ Enter your model number, and it will take you to the parts list and prices. It also provides diagram of your washer

My washer will not switch from one cycle to the next

I understand that your washer is not advancing and stuck on one cycle. If you provide a Model and serial number, it will be helpful.

I accidentally set cycle to Self Clean instead of Spin & Drain and pushed Start button. Trying to reset to correct cycle. Have just moved and don't have manual on hand.

Most machines will reset if you press the stop button or otherwise end the cycle. If all else fails, un-plug the machine, wait a few minutes and plug it in. Otherwise, just let the Self Clean cycle finish.

The dial on my machine is not moving around by itself cycles still work if I turn the dial

The dial is driven by a synchronous motor which seems to have failed. You might be able to replace the motor itself, otherwise the whole timer will have to be changed.

Kenmore Heavy Duty Series 70 washing machine gets stuck in cycle.

Either your timing motor has broken or the gears that it drives are stripped. The timing motor is easy to replace but if the gears are stripped you will need a whole new dial assembly.

My Kitchenaid Superba washing machine won't advance to the next cycle. For instance, it will stay on the wash cycle until you push the dial in and manually move it forward to the next cycle.

ck ing the model # it doesn't work but a washer that the timer will not adv . its just a timer failure . replace timer as it is bad .. you will need a correct mod # of the unit to pur timer .. hope this will help **** ..

Whirlpool AWM1200 washing machine wont advance at certain stages

there is a little motor in the selector switch that moves the dial around.  This little motor is defective and needs replacement.  Sometimes it's sold separately and sometimes you need the whole timer.

The washer will not move forward automatically. I

it may be the timer or the heater has gone faulty in which it will not advance the timer from the stats. is it heating ? if not theres your answer, if so it may be the stat or the timer itself.

Service M6766 washing machine. works on whatever programme I set it on but just sits on that programme and will wash at say 40 all day and not move through the washing cycle. I have to turn the dial by...

It more than likely needs the control board taking out and looking at. The dial contains a small drive motor, which can give up, or it could be that the water level or temperature sensors ae not working correctly. these give the control a signal to advance when the drum is full enough, and when hot enough. Are you sure the outlet hose is 3/4 the way up the machine? - too low, and it will always drain before getting full enough.
