If the drive jumpers are set right, the motherboard bios should see the drive fine. This Motherboard can see drives that large. Sometimes if the drive is in bios, but the operating system can't then it's an software issue. What version of windows or Linux are you running?

Slow pc

Hello juliet_34x,

Whats also important to perform when you up your memory to 2 gig is to adjust your Paging File as well. At 2 gig of primary memory, you will need to adjust the Paging File to 3000 (2 GB X 1.5) and Maximum size to 4092. In addition, if your computer was performing slow before the memory upgrade, you should perform disk cleanup and defrag (this will help alot).

Hope this helps and good luck.

Maximum RAM not achiveable for KT4V

What Operating System and revision are you running?
I don't believe that XP 32bit (not sure about 64) will recognize 3GB of RAM, but Vista will as long as your MoBo (Mother Board) supports it or possibly even more than.
My Asus MoBo will utilize 4GB but Vista 32bit will only utilize 3.48GB or so, and Vista 64bit will take up to 8GB if the MoBo will.
Let us know what O.S. you're running?
