Its the 2nd setting in the setup menu of your printer. ips = inches per second. 2-12 inches is the range. this setting is also in the driver under printing preferences and printing default and must be changed also or the next print will change the printer back.

My zebra 105se printer got move to a different location and now it is printing very slow. Is there a way to set the speed faster?

Our company is an authorized reseller for Zebra printers, as well as labels & ribbon. You can adjust the speed and heat settings on your zebra printer, however your labels software will often override any settings. What software are you currently you using? If you can let me know, i will tell you how to change settings in your software- which will override the print to print faster.

I have 20 Zebra 170Xilll printers and the printers are on our network and for some reason the print speed is one speed no matter if I set the speed in the software or the printer to a faster speed. What...

if your software send the data+configuration from the printer direcly to the printer, need to change on the software.
If your software send just the job with the defult setings from the printer, ajust speed on the printer.
If your software send just the job ant tell to use setings from the driver, ajust setings on (advance menu) from the driver.

Speed of printing labels

Speed is adjusted via the ZPL data stream or your software. There is no print speed adjustment in the Zebra front panel menu.

Zebra Z4MPlus not printing dark enough

In your label software there should be a setting option for print darkness (I assume it adjusts the head temperature) In ours (bartender) you can get to it when you select 'print' and a window appears with a 'documents properties' button. Click on this and select options and a darkness bar appears which you can adjust. You may also need to slow the label print speed if the darkness adjustment is not enough. I suspect it isn't in the printers best interest to run the print head at maximum darkness/heat so a sensible balance of darkness and print speed is best.
Another, less likely, possibility is an incompatability between the label material or surface finish, and the ribbon type. We did have a problem once whem Homebase changed their price label design and we had to test a load of other ribbon types until we got one that did the job. A chat with the label or ribbon supplier is always usefull, they sent us several sample bits to test.

Fax to location does not pickup and goes into

Adjust you transmission speed to the lowest setting then try.
Keep boosting speed up until you can no longer connect then back down one speed.
This brand is known for communication problems with other brand of fax machines. This is the only workaround that has supplied results for me.

Hi. I Recently inherited a Zebra 140 XiII(2) and I cannot set the print speed as the option doesn't show on the LCD menu or when I print out the printer config settings. Any help would be appreciated.

Print speeds on the Zebra xiII series printers are set via software. There is no printer menu speed setting on the xiII series. Zebra didn't allow speed adjusts thru the front panel menu until they made the xiIII series printers... The ZPL code command for print speed is "^PR"

Zebra S4M Label Printer

Do you know the print speed that you are using? I would slow it down to about 7 ips and adjust the Darkness until you are happy. Some companies want all this speed and the machine cannot do a good job at high speeds (10 ips). If you are not able to over-ride their speed, call them. It will increase your print quality a great deal.
The print speed is the second setting on the menu. Don't forget to save the settings when you are finished (use "Permanent"). Good luck!

How do you speed up the printing speed on a Paxar 9800/9850?

Press "escape"
Press Right arrow til display says "setup"
press "enter"
Display now says "supply"
press "enter"
right arrow til you see "speed"
press enter
adjust print speed IPS is "inches per second"
press enter after you change speed. hit escape key 3-4 times, then enter - you should see "print mode ready

If speed doesnt change it could be because the print speed is set by the software OR by the type of barcode you are printing. Serial barcodes default to 2.5 ips.

How do you speed up he printing speed on a Paxar 9800/9850?

Are you printing a serial or parallel barcode? If you don't know, a serial barcode looks like a ladder as it prints out on the label. A parallel barcode looks like a picket fence. A serial barcode (ladder) prints at 2.5 ips by default. You can't increase the speed. If you're printing a parallel barcode (picket fence) you must hit "enter' once you adjust the speed setting in the printer menu. If you've done that and it still won't increase speed, then the speed is set by the software itself, and overrides any changes you make in the printer menu. The speed adjustment must then be made in the software, not the printer.
