Tip about converting WMV to MOV on MAC without iMovie

After downloading a funny video from YouTube, or creating a video in Movie Maker, you would always want to optimize it by editing in iMovie, but what kind of software can be a good assistant ? With high speed and excellent quality on Mac OS X, Aimersoft Mac WMV Converter can solve your problem for converting between popular video formats including WMV, MOV.

What's more, this splendid WMV to MOV Converter for Mac enables you to trim and crop video clips, set video effects, preview in real-time, and even add watermark onto your video.

This is the step-by-step guide to show you how to convert WMV to MOV on Mac.
Firstly, free download and install Mac WMV to MOV Converter, and then run it.

Step 1: Import your WMV files to this Mac WMV to MOV Converter

You can then directly drag your WMV files into it or go to menu bar, or select "File", then choose "Add Video Files"; you can delete one or more files as you like and preview your files before conversion.

Step2: Choose output format "MOV" and output folder

Click "format" at the bottom of the interface to choose the output format, here we choose "Common Video", then "MOV - QuickTime Movie".
Expand the "Output" panel so you can select an output directory.

PS: you can press"Setting" button on the right of the thumbnail to customize the output file settings as you like, you may change the sample rate, channel (stereo or mono) and bit rate.
If you have no idea, you do not need to alter, the default settings work well too.

Step3: Click "Start" to convert your WMV file to MOV.
If you have no use for editing WMV videos, just begin to convert WMV to MOV on Mac by clicking "start" button.

What is WMV?
WMV stands for Windows Media Video. It is a compressed video file format for several proprietary codecs developed by Microsoft. The original codec, known as WMV, was originally designed for Internet streaming applications, as a competitor to Real Video.

Why WMV to MOV?
WMV is used for both streaming and downloading content via the Internet. You can playback and manage the files of this format on Windows Media Player. However, for the Mac users, they have habit of using QuickTime and iMovie, and MOV format is compatible with both Macintosh and Windows platforms, so the conversion from WMV to MOV is necessary.

Do not remember my password

Open the Finder on your Mac.
  • Step 2 Go to the "Applications" folder.
  • Step 3 Click on the "Utilities" folder.
  • Step 4forgotten-passwords-mac-1.4-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep4 span.image a:first').attr('href',''); }); Double-click on "Keychain Access." The window that pops up has just about every site you've visited that has a password associated with it.
  • Step 5forgotten-passwords-mac-1.5-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep5 span.image a:first').attr('href',''); }); Type the website URL (Web address) in the Spotlight search bar in the upper-right corner. You can just use the part between the www and the top-level domain (for example, .com, .net, .gov).
  • Step 6 Double-click the site name once you find the site you need. A dialog box will pop up with the information for this site. The information here includes the login name, the site URL and what kind of password it is.
  • Step 7 Click the checkbox next to Show Password on the Attributes tab of the dialog box that pops up on your screen.
  • Step 8forgotten-passwords-mac-1.8-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep8 span.image a:first').attr('href',''); }); Type in your Keychain password and click "Always Allow" or "Allow Once" to see your password for this site.

It's highly recommended that you click on "Allow Once" so you have control over who sees your passwords.

Your Keychain password is usually the one you use to log in to your Mac or the one you set when you first got your computer.

Once you hit "Allow Once," the password will show up in the Show Password text field.

Why does Bing keep popping up when I want to get into my hotmail account and preventing access to my hotmail ?

Because Bing is too often implemented as an intrusive and annoying facility.
Many Bing-enabled webpages seem to be coded such that just mousing over any number of common words and phrases pops up unwanted and unneeded Bing boxes relating to those words and phrases, blocking what you are currently trying to read.
The people who design these pages apparently believe this is a wonderful and helpful new way for websites to work. I'm not one of them, and user experiences like yours are the reason for my opinion.
The solution is block the Bing website:
    Step by step:
    1) Open the IE options.
This can be done by using the Tools menu within IE and selecting “Internet Options”, by right-clicking on the IE icon on your desktop or Start menu and selecting “Internet Options”, or by launching “Internet Options” from inside the Windows Control Panel.
    2) From the IE Options window, select the Security tab
    3) From within the security tab, click on the “Restricted sites” icon and then click the [Sites] button right below it.
    4) A list box window will pop up. In the “Add this website to the zone:” filed type in * then click the [Add] button.
    5) Close Internet Explorer. The next time you open Internet Explorer the change takes place.

Sounds like you may have some permissions issues - I would suggest sticking in the OS disc that came with your iMac, restarting, and holding the "C" key when you hear the chime - this will make it boot off the CD. Once booted from it, go to Tools->Disk Utility, choose your disk, and do "Repair Permissions". Once that is done, you can quit the installer and restart. If that doesn't work, the next step I would recommend is running DiskWarrior, which is $99 - this is like an industrial permissions/hard drive directory repair disc, used by many professionals. If that doesn't solve it, you will likely have to back up your user data and do a fresh install of the OS from the discs you have. Good luck!
