Question about Washing Machines

Whirpool Ultimate II Not spinning

My Whirlpool ultimate II won't spin. Everything else works fine.

1.) I Replaced the lid switch. 2.) I've replaced the drive coupler with a beefed up one (metal reinforced and all), but no luck. there's no change in status.

I've pulled the aggitator to make sure that everything is good up top (which it is), and I've now dropped the motor and transmission. I noticed that when I twist the coupler prongs on the transmission, the shaft does not move. Is this normal? I

've also noticed a great deal of black dust at the base of the shaft... along with orange fluid like on the floor beneath the washer. Some of the metal around the gearbox had oil on it as well.Is my gear box shot?? is that why it wasn't spinning?

Washing machine does go thru spin cycle or drain water.

If the washer does not spin, take off the rubber bumbers inculding the little washers attached, inside the lid. It lowers the lid, which takes care of the problem. I had the same problem. Not anymore! Trust me, if nothing is wrong with any other part of the washer, this will work.

Washing machine stops working

I search in the internet on regards to the problems with the Whirpool Ultimate Care II and found out that many others had the same problem as I did. Some solved this issue replacing the switch, so i decided to do the same.
I opened the machine and saw that the switch was not working properly, it was not doing any contact, so whenever I open or closed the lid, nothing was happening. I did a house fixing, with some duck tape i was able to make the system work, and now the machine is washing everything again.

Whirlpool ultimate care II will not spin

You said, washer is full of water and will not spin. You hear the lid switch clicking. When you start it on spin cycle and hear a hum, the tub moves a couple of inches and then stops...shortly after it shuts off.

Some reasons this may happen
Washer won’t drain or spin
n
1. Is the drain hose clogged, or the end of the drain hose
more than 72 inches (183 cm) above the floor?
2. Is the lid open? ............Also the lid switch can be faulty!!
The lid must be closed during operation.
3. Is there excessive sudsing?
Always measure detergent. Follow manufacturer’s directions.
4 If you have very soft water, you might need to use less
detergent.

Sounds to me like the lid switch can be faulty!!Then it acts like the lid is open.

Ultimate II is refusing to go into agtation/wash cycle

It sounds like a bad timer unit, and possibly a lid switch.

As far as the water overfilling, that may be an unrelated problem, such as the water level switch... but most likely the timer.

I have the same model, and it wouldn't drain.. and it would try to spin when full of water... an interesting sight to see!

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washing maching but will not spin.

lid switch is bad chance are you can by pass this by removing the timer header and crossing the outer wire on the lid switch that it mounted closest to the lid not the power cord this will tell you if you need a switch
